@@el-youtub3r402 Items in this context need be signature/sentimental - Jeff Jarrett's guitar for example; the babyface will ultimately win the feud with a guitar shot, having received/witnessed many in the build up to that. Idea I'm seeing is they win Slammys for "Women's tag team of the year", Bayley breaks Sasha's during her heel turn, Sasha returns the favour at HIAC signifying her FINALLY accepting the end of the friendship, only "prize" to fight for is the belt, Sasha wins... simple but effective. Pretty sure I saw Sasha pushing out kendo sticks through the cell mesh... then later using a kendo stick; lost me there

@@darrengordon-hill The chair was less about it being a chair and more about it being the thing she used to injury Sasha with. It was a Psychological ploy, but I will agree that Bayley panicking after the chair was thrown out made little sense... But when you have a parking spot in mind and in your view and you drive up to it then someone pulls into that spot, it pisses you off even though there are another hundred parking spots because you had planned on parking at that one specifically; it makes no logical sense to get pissed off at someone taking your spot, but it's not the taking of the spot that triggers that emotion, but the fact that it forced you to change your plans.

And Cornette is spot on correct. Traditionally speaking, a cage match was often used as the blow off match to end a feud and blood was a prerequisite. A cage match or just about any other gimmick match without blood is senseless and makes the business look even worse for wear. This rests solely on Vince's shoulders because a decade ago, he decided to prohibit it and we went from having blood in a match semi-weekly to never having it again unless by accident.

@SupraViperhead
@SupraViperhead 3 жыл бұрын
No, his point is that women doing this ruins the gimmick, which isn't true. He thinks that if a 120lb girl who can only life 50lbs swings a chair at another 120lb girl who can only lift 50lbs and she kicks out that it somehow means that a 285lb man who can lift 300lbs can't sell a chair swung by a 385lb man who can lift 900lbs. The person committing the act and the person having the act committed onto them matter just as much as the act itself. His follow up about people getting injured was a recent tack-on. People don't HAVE to "up the ante", they CHOOSE to.
@georgedavisii2451
@georgedavisii2451 3 жыл бұрын
@@SupraViperhead I feel like he’s emphasized that spots like they used in the hiac should only be used sparingly and then by the top/main event guys...and even then only very rarely. Man or woman, you can’t argue that if you keep doing sh*t like that, eventually somebody can get hurt. Real bad. As far as the woman go...is it really necessary for them to go EXTREME to have a good match? 🤷🏾‍♂️
@SupraViperhead
@SupraViperhead 3 жыл бұрын
@@georgedavisii2451 Of course if they keep going over the top, someone's going to get hurt, but that wasn't his point with women doing gimmick matches. To him, the women's match ITSELF IS a gimmick match. He put the women's match in the same breath as the midget matches in the past. As far as women going to extremes to have a good match, it isn't necessary, but is it necessary for MEN to go to those extreme's to have a good match either? When thinking of the greatest matches in history (male or female) NONE have been extreme gimmick matches. If it's okay for men to do, it should be okay for women to do; but I also believe that it should be RARE for BOTH to do it (even go as far to say it should be more rare for women, which it still is) as doing it too often makes it less "special" and more "commonplace", but WWE has turned nearly every gimmick into an annual PPV, so that's out the door. Even if they wait another 5 years to do a Woman's HIAC match, it still won't be special because the Men have them every year and people no longer see women as being less capable than men. I think the Casket match is the only gimmick match they can still get away with that they haven't turned into a commonplace match.

Sasha Banks has the most highest rated women’s matches in WWE of the Four Horsewomen era since 2015. She’s arguably not even in her prime yet. She’s been putting on the most consistent and strongest showings for the women’s division this year and this HITC clash was easily another classic entry to her other hallmark matches against Bayley. I absolutely agree with Jim 100% on this. I'm all for equality, but unfortunately we cannot overcome our biology. Women have no business in these types of matches. It isn't because they can't do it, but it is because they cannot do it safely. I remember being mildly interested in the first women's HITC between Sasha and Charlotte. In the match, Charlotte attempted to put Sasha through a table on three occasions and could not do it. Both of these women are talented at what they do, but this spot was not physically possible for them to complete at all, let alone do it safely. The average male wrestler weighs around 250 lbs, give or take. Sasha barely weighs 100 lbs. For Sasha to break the table, Charlotte would have to be able to propel her through the table with nearly 2.5 times the force required for a man to break the table, while having much less upper body strength than the average male wrestler. It was physically impossible. It could not have been done successfully, regardless of their talent. As a result, Sasha was thrown up against this hard object three separate times. Her body absorbed all of that impact each time. You also have to remember that most women do not have the musculature or body fat that the average man has. Therefore, they do not have as much padding to absorb an impact like that. No matter how talented they are, the risk of injury in this type of match is much greater for the average woman than it is for the average man, and these matches are dangerous enough for the men. After that match, I swore that I would never again watch a women's HITC match. I do not want to take part in someone being unnecessarily injured. I do not want to see a woman get injured doing something that she shouldn't have been forced to do. We cannot compare men and women to one another, because we are not the same. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Both are useful, but you can't make the same dish with an apple that you make with an orange, and vice versa.Continuing to do this will eventually get someone seriously hurt, and I do not want to be watching when it happens.

I don't need the contrived spots and super stunts, I need to feel like there is real hate between the people fighting at the top of the card. I never understand Cornette's logic with this - a 130 pound woman being hit by a chair from another 130 pound woman should be fine, the same way a 235 pound guy hitting another 235 pound guy with a chair is fine. Cornette makes it seem like the women are superpowered but it's logically just relative strength/damage being dealt. I truly don't understand why Cornette gets hung up on this everytime.

@Trump4Prison2021 Your criticism of Bayley is strange. I've never seen her do anything and thought that a child was doing it. You're using hyperbole to make a weak point. Bayley isn't that bad ass wrestler that's throwing people around. She's an entitled brat who is extremely insecure despite telling the world that she's the best. That's what good heels do. They mask their insecurities by telling everyone how great they are. If they actually thought they were great, they wouldn't need to cheat or run from fights - but they do. What makes Bayley great is that a lot of her gripes with Sasha have a grain of truth to them. She's not just going out there and saying "I don't like you." There's substance to what she's saying. What good is a cowardly heel if they go in the ring and tear it up doing a 30 minute competitive match? That wouldn't make any sense.

It INFURIATES me that Vince pulled the trigger on this title change during the first match of this feud just to get the belt on Sasha BEFORE the first episode of The Mandalorian even aired. Rather than building the feud and program alongside the hype of the show, he blew his wad before they could even generate a shred of momentum behind Sasha for a big pay-off later in the season. The old man just DEFINITIVELY proved that he's completely forgotten how to promote. He hasn't been able to do so for almost two decades now, and he just completely blew one of the BIGGEST opportunities that they've had in YEARS to bring new eyes/interest onto the product. It's fucking baffling, and ridiculously mind-boggling.
