​@@Maddogg500 I would argue the books started going downhill even before then. Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse: Dune, both written by Frank Herbert, weren't exactly great. You can really stop with the 4th book, God Emperor of Dune. If you want to see an adaptation of the other books, the 2003 Syfy minseries Children of Dune adapted the first 3 books and is actually pretty good. Leto II (son of Paul) is played by James McAvoy, my favorite actor, and he does a great job.

Tenel Ka Djo. I was the perfect age for the Jedi Academy series. I grew up reading about Tenel Ka, Jacen, Jaina, and Lowbacca. The fall of Jacen into Darth Caedus across all those books really affected me. Jacen is my Anakin and Vader. Disney already ruined him and his twin sister Jaina, who would have been a badass trained by mandalorians. They would screw over Bastilla so hard. She was bratty and disrespectful but the game recognized that she was in the wrong and underneath the attitude, they showed us just how insecure she was. That's what lead to her downfall and canonically Revan helped her to redeem herself and grow. There is no way that current Lucasfilms/Disney would acknowledge Bastilla's shortcomings, they would make her right about everything. And while the goal was that Bastilla and Revan had huge influence over each other and that's what pushed them both to the light, they would fumble it so hard. I just hope they stay away from KOTOR, or at least give it to someone that cares.

That is how you tell a story! I remember a bit about this character, but I think I mixed her up with someone else as I thought that she had a daughter and not a son. Seriously, there are so many untouched stories in the SW universe that would work so well in a series format, kind of like mando season 1, just stories. They could do anything from just having unlinked stories, episode to episode, to having an older unseen jedi surrounded by littles, gathering around to hear the next story. or even a fourth wall, telling the story to the camera. I mean, just give me good, solid, cannon.

Ever since learning about her in SWTOR and Bastilla and Revan in KOTOR it just seems like a great opportunity for a nuanced character in an extremely interesting period of time. I love Satele Shan But I’ve done my own version of the sequels and you know what goes hard, Maris Brood as one of Snokes Knights of Ren, being the 4th Knight, the personal assassin. Have her be the one to fight Kylo and Rey, to show the viewer that alone they would fail but together they can be strong. To set up the third film more. And from that, now people want more. That is how good ideas fill with creativity and inspiration.

Nomi Sunrider. Her story is my favorite, at first she is a simple woman with a daughter and husband who was a Jedi in training in the early days of the Old Republic and shaping of the Jedi Order. Though her husband was tragically killed by gangsters for the lightsaber crystals they were transporting. She had the path of the Jedi thrust upon her by the force ghost of her husband, encouraging her to take up his weapon and the path. She and their daughter were indeed strong in the force, and so reluctantly took up to find the master her husband was to train under, Jedi Master Thon. Her initial meeting with the Jedi Master is very much mirrored with Luke’s first encounter with Yoda. When she arrives on the planet she greets a fellow Jedi trainee she presumes to be Master Thon, but after losing a battle to gangsters of a local hutt crime lord who wants the crystals Nomi carries (it’s a hutt, shiny things very rare, ect). A Tchuukthai roams in and scares off the gangsters and revealed to be Master Thon. During her training she is often fearful for taking up a lightsaber in battle, not liking the weapon for the harm it can cause. Having had to defend herself and her daughter from her husband’s killer’s. But once again she has to make a choice when the gangsters come around again greater numbers and even take Thon. She is spurred into action and takes up her weapon to defend her teacher and free him. She goes on to be one of the best adepts of battle meditation, this was of course long before the Shan family was born. Led the Jedi forces during the Krath skirmishes that evolved into the Brotherhood of the Sith. Helped encase Exar Kun’s spirit in his temple in a Mass coalition of Jedi collectively creating a wall of light side energy. After the defeat of the Sith she went on to become the Jedi order’s grandmaster. Throughout the entire war with krath and Sith, many times she tried to save Ulic Qel-Droma with her love, but Sith poison in his body and the Marka Ragnos’ own blessing as reigning co-Sith Lord, he was far too gone, until he struck down his own brother Cay. In his grief he abandoned the Darkside, but the damage was done, Nomi and their other friends seeing this. Drawing upon Ossus’ Force Nexus, she stripped him of the Force. Her daughter Vima wanting to know why Ulic Qel-Droma so bad and going out of her way to find the exiled and force stripped Jedi to teach her and be her Jedi master, demanding him even. But still being a child she didn’t fully comprehend anything that had happened during the war. By the end many who had hatred for Ulic forgive him, only to immediately be shot by the very pilot who brought Vima to him, thinking he would be famous for killing the one who started the war. But Ulic makes peace with his former comrades and says goodbye to Nomi and Vima as he becomes one with the force at last.

Darth talon, Mara Jade, Bastille (I think I spelled that wrong), honestly it's really hard to choose between, maybe not all of them were perfect but they were memorable do most in a positive light and they helped push the story forward or helped steer it and people loved how far it went and the direction it took

Okay Kathleen/Amandla/Leslye, if I, as a Star Wars fan who didn't like The Acolyte Legends Characters that I would love to see done well in canon (some have unfortunately been retconned out of existence): Jaina Solo Satele Shan Bastilla Shan Tahiri Veila Darth Zannah Darth Talon Juno Eclipse Githany Jesmin Ackbar Gara Petothel/Lara Notsil/Kirney Slane Hell, even Revan, as you could choose 'his' gender in SWTOR. If it's a good story, I really don't care what gender the main character is. Here's some canon characters I'd love to see done well/better: Ahsoka Tano Padme Amidala Leia (Admittedly difficult now, RIP Carrie) Qi-Ra Shaak Ti Yaddle Depa Bilaba Bo Katan (Just give her her own show, not Din's) Jecki Lon (Dafne Keen is awesome, give her a story that has nothing to do with The Acolyte (I'd be okay with retconning the stab in this instance, you've had no problem doing it before)) CARA DUNE. FFS Disney, if we all hate women so much, how come (for the most part) we all agree that the best seasons of The Mandalorian were the first two, before Gina was fired?

I was so excited when Ahsoka was going to be made however the live 1:19 action of her was poor. Probably a combo of bad writing and wrong actress perhaps. So now because she became an adult she lost all the characteristics that made her a favorite in clone wars. Quick witted, sometimes a little snarky, lively , bubbly, and at times really show her good heart. I’m sure more adjectives could be used to describe her but live action had nothing but a monotone boring version of her.

It seems you never watched rebels or just forgot her character from that time. She wasn’t snarky and bubbly like she was when she was a kid. Shes grown at this point and has gone through a lot trying to stay hidden from the empire while still trying to help the rebellion from the shadows. She’s a mature adult with past traumas at this point in Star Wars. She isn’t the same bright eyed little girl that she was when she joined the order. It’s somewhat a reflection of what happened to Anakin. He was the same way and through time he changed. Its character progression and character development. Her character wasn’t written poorly in the live action, other parts of the show were. The lack of explanation of Baylons true intentions, the fact that sebine (who was never force sensitive before) suddenly can use the force and the message that anyone can be a Jedi with enough hard work was what left a somewhat bitter taste in the mouths of people. I don’t think it has anything to do with Ahsoka as a character or Rosario Dawson as an actress. I think she embodies Ahsoka pretty well

Yes! When the previous generations are so great and ingrained into legend, one must aspire to do and be better. She embodied that, carried herself down her own path and came out better. That is how you write a next generation character without disrespecting what came before. Damn, I played the KOTOR games and know the lore but not the old republic. So, though I was aware of some of the characters. I didn't know she was related to revan and bastila. That was a nice treat. This old republic lore is Excellent, great stuff. 😌👍

Satele Shan was an absolute bad ass and i loved her in Kotor. That cinematic where she stopped Darth Malgus' lightsaber with her bare hands and then basically force Kamehameha'ed him into that rock wall was just awesome. Not only that, but she was a very wise and even tempered leader and mentor.
