I did it from both the bottom and the top, removed the 3 exhaust heat shield screws and 3 screws on the plastic shroud under the car for bottom access. Much easier to disconnect the connector from the sensor from the bottom & easier to get the socket on the sensor from the bottom. Once I had the socket on it, I inserted the ratchet with long extension onto the socket & removed the old sensor. There is a silicone rubber seal that should stay on the power connector, but it may stay in the old sensor when removing the connector. Make sure to reuse the seal back onto the connector if that happens (mine was yellow colored). One more note, it was difficult to get the new sensor started into the threads (I'd say almost impossible from above with my arms). It also seems to be canted upward slightly so a bit tricky to get it started into the threads, thinking it's mounting is exactly perpendicular. This also made reinsertion of the connector also a bit tricky before it could be fully inserted. The job took me 2 hours learning these "tricks". If doing it a 2nd time, only about an hour or so.

This is the cleanest impala engine I have ever seen on youtube. How often do you drive the car? This engine looks like it has not been driven in the rain.

Why did the sensor need replacing, was there an oil leak
@MikeDavis-kz6fq4 ай бұрын
They're common to fail and show a false oil pressure warning on the dash.

Like Mike said, the check engine light came on and was showing low oil pressure.

What could cost my car oil light turn on and turn off immediately why driving ?? Can someone explain
@WhojoedaddyDIY9 ай бұрын
Would need some more information, but if one of my girls called me with this problem, I would want them to double check that it has the proper oil levels until I could figure out why the light was coming on. Sounds like it could be the oil sending switch unit. Light would go out after you build engine oil pressure when driving. Check out this forum, believe it might give a better explanation. Good luck! www.impalaforums.com/threads/oil-pressure-low-warning.1874283/
