As someone who is struggling, scraping, and crawling towards recovery as an anorexic...The last story had me close to tears. Somebody please help that child and give her support. I started down this dark path at only 12 years old, and it is hellish. I can't believe how sick in the head some parents can be.

Absolutely agree. I was anorexic as well for six (maybe and a half) years as well in past and it took me so much struggle to come out of that. I would not be surprised if that kid would end up like that as well because of her sh***y mom. How on fricking earth can someone think that way. Anyway, wish you the best of luck so you can be happy as soon as possible. I know you can do it, you are amazing and strong person 🙆‍♂💪

I have gone through the same thing. I am currently only 14 and recovering from anorexia. Although I am now doing much better, it is still a major struggle for me. That last story was absolutely horrible and I hate it when parents do this to their child. Many of my family members made a lot of comments about my weight and diet when I was at a really young age and that is why I turned out this way. That poor little girl is going to grow up with eating issues and the constant thought that she isn't good enough. It is so heartbreaking. I just wish that more parents would teach their kids healthy eating habits and help to build their self confidence. Because awful doesn't even begin to describe what it's like to grow up with an ed/body image issues. I'm proud of you for trying to recover and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I truly hope that your journey toward recovery goes well and that you learn to be the happy, healthy, and confident person you deserve to be.

I'm introverted, not shy, and I had a coworker always tell me my quietness makes her uncomfortable because she couldn't tell what I was thinking. And that me never talking was *too mysterious*. I'm at my desk by the way, WORKING, minding my own business and she comes to where I am to say this crap. This coworker NEVER does any work, always gossips, is LOUD and is never at her desk. I told her I DO talk, I just don't like talking to YOU. Enter surprised Pikachu face. Then she says that was rude. I go no, what's rude is you coming over here telling me to talk more. That's like me going to where you are and telling you to shut up more. She stared at me for a minute and then walked away. She doesn't bother me anymore and she's quieter somehow 😆

If someone being more of a listener and/or preferring to be quiet makes you uncomfortable or “ruins the mood”, you’re an over sensitive crybaby and more socially inept than you think you are. Outgoing and high social aptitude don’t inherently go together, and it’s people like that stepmom and stepdaughter that prove this to be true. Just because you like socializing, doesn’t mean you’re any good at it.
@sha78962

This and yes just because you are extrovert doesn't mean you can make others extrovert, the world doesn't revolve around you and people around you doesn't have to act like you to be part of or to please you.

1st Story: I'm also an introvert/quiet and prefer to spend most of/some of my time alone. It seems that the stepmom and stepdaughter tried to make him an extrovert. The dad did the right thing when he defended his son. Just because someone is an introvert doesn't mean they never want to go to family events or events with friends. The woman shouldn't have married the guy if she isn't/wasn't willing to accept that his son is an introvert. 2nd Story: The MIL (mother in law) is very entitled. The husband isn't obligated to give the MIL expensive gifts. The husband was right when he told MIL that it's crazy she thinks he is obligated to treat her and his wife the same. The wife was in the wrong when she told him that he owes MIL (her mom) an apology. The wife was also wrong when she told him that he was out of line for making MIL (her mom) cry. I think that MIL cried because she didn't get the expensive gift and therefore wants to try to turn people against the husband. 3rd Story: The mom shouldn't be so controlling when it comes to what her 5 year old daughter eats and how much she (the daughter) weighs. The person did the right thing when they gave her an apple and made her a sandwich.

The first dad has a bigger problem than an angry wife. She was bullying his son and attacking him, making him feel “less than” in his own home, and I guarantee she’s been doing that for awhile. He HAS to take his son’s side. When you come into a new marriage with a child, it has to be a package deal. If the spouse abuses your child, the child has to come first because they are depending on you. He need to make clear that if she wants to stay married she has to be kind to his son.
@shadowboxer1
@shadowboxer1 2 жыл бұрын
0:05: I've always believed introverts understand extroverts better than extroverts understand introverts. That said, just because the son is introverted doesn't mean he doesn't want to be a part of family events. Plus, she never should have married the man in the first place if she wasn't willing to accept his son's introversion. I don't know if the man should have gone so far as to the cancel the event, but he was right to stick up for his son. 5:52: I can't deal with people who feel entitled to something from an in-law just because he married into the family. Especially if he comes from a higher class background. 10:41: What, is her sister trying to get her daughter on "Toddlers and Tiaras" or something? As far as "Where's the father?" I get the feeling he has little (if any) say in the matter.
@TweSunshine

He was right to cancel.
@Silverraine1
@Silverraine1 2 жыл бұрын
@@TweSunshine The reason he was right to cancel is because the reason for a husband to arrange a mother day's celebration for his wife is normally because of the kids. Some people might do it in anticipation of their future children and some with their beloved pets. But if you exclude/ignore your kid it becomes a pointless celebration. No kids = no mother = no reason to celebrate.

1st story: Good on the father! Stand up for your son. 2nd story: The MIL is so Weird! He is not your husband! 3rd story: Weight watching for a 5 years old by refusing to give her lunch?, is this not child abuse? If the mom is really concerned, she should give her daughter a balanced meal with reduced calories not make her skip meals; that would give her an eating disorder when she grows up.

every time i hear stories of parents that will undoubtedly give their kid an eating disorder my blood boils. the word "abuse" usually calls to mind the image of somebody beating their kid, but honestly i think this kind of thing is almost worse, because it will cause problems the child will inflict on _themselves_ for who knows how long throughout their life. people die from this crap and i'm losing my mind how many mothers in particular think it's fine to constantly comment on their daughters' weight or restrict their diet. absolutely disgusting.

I guess the lady who don't serve lunch to her child, doesn't understand its healthy food that keeps a good figure, not starvation practices. Growing children should eat and exercise to keep in healthy weight, build muscle, train hand eye coordination. Lack of quality food = stunted growth. She may end up with a stunted child if she insist on skipping meals. I remember when I was in growth spurts, I'd be extra hungry. Never got overweight as long as I have a reasonably active lifestyle and avoid processed food and added sugars.
@annorafang7457
@annorafang7457 8 ай бұрын
Not just stunted growth, but it can literally cause other health problems. I unknowingly had anorexia growing up so I had developed hypoglycemia and later fibromyalgia. Those two are a little connected with lack of nutrition, and I'm sure there are other possible results from basically poor eating habits growing up.

Story one: As a introvert/quiet person, I feel for the kid. He sees his his stepmom has a mother figure and is willing to step across his comfort zone for her. Now I don't do "big celebrations" simply because I have two children and one is considered "special needs"(not tested yet but is on the list (?) For autism, hyper active, and just a curious little butt.) And I have one year old that's bit curious and needing to be held all at once. Plus I don't have much family here so we do it separately because crazy schedules and we got to take in consideration of 9 kids. But however I give this dad props for standing up for his son, I hope he leaves that damn woman for what she and her daughter did. Story two: Ummm if I missed a part let me know but are they from another country where the wives and mothers are kinda like equals(?) Or they have a tradition where both wives and their mothers get equality on special days like Mother's day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, ext? If not then yeah, that's greedy af. We don't do anything big for Mother's day, simply because I'm extremely hard to shop for and plus my mil always ask for the same thing every year and we now try to make it happen but it's a struggle. Story three: Where does this woman live? I need it for research purposes...

As long as you're healthy and happy with your body it shouldn't matter what other people think. It's bad enough that people in magazines tell you hey in order to be beautiful you need to be skinny....... like no that's not how this works, if the daughter is happy with her body then it shouldn't matter what the mother thinks! I can see his wife point of view of not wanting to create a rift in their mother and daughter relationship but you can clearly see your mother is USING your husband. Personally I think the husband was right to confront her. Though I think it would have been better if he communicated with his wife and told her his problem's. So they both can confront the mil privately. It is not right to use people no matter the circumstances. I also really want to know what was his wife doing when he mil was complaining about not getting jewellery?? As his wife she should've helped her husband in that type of uncomfortable situation. Isn't that situation strange? Your own mother complaining to YOUR husband for not getting jewelry. Why in the world does he need to buy her jewelry. It's HIS money dammnit.

I totally relate with you being shy and not being able to talk much still but wanting to be there when your family is celebrating together!! Story1: The irony that the stepmother says son will make her family uncomfortable on mother's day, but doesn't care when she's making him uncomfortable! She obviously never considered him as part of her family -- even for an average person with no stepfamily a lot of our family members are not blood related to us but we still treat them with basic respect and try to get along with them (aunts/uncles,great aunts/uncles, sister/bro/cousin in laws, etc). All her excuses are just nonsense to hide her unfeeling heart!! Story2: It's mother's day so she should be asking her daughter for presents, not her son in law. Is there no son or FIL? Maybe that's why she got carried away, out of loneliness, and wants her son in law to take care of her too. After all, there are some actual unreasonable mothers who quarrel with their own sons if they buy expensive for their wives but not them. PS: if you ever come across an actual poor relation don't give them useless dead flowers, give them something practical or delicious. Story3:This mother is treating her daughter worse than a pet! I wouldn't be surprised if the daughter becomes a) malnourished with low height or b) a school bully who snatches her classmates lunch!

Honestly when I was a kid I never did go hungry I even brought snacks everywhere we went. 😁 All the stories really got under my nerves and the one about the introverted boy oh my goodness I'm glad my mom was never this way and I am glad my stepdad isn't this way either.

The OP of the last post needs to get CPS to proctect his poor niece. No five year old needs to be told that they need skip meals to be skinny. As someone who struggles with eating enough, it’s outrageous that the mother would actively refuse to feed her child.

i actually have my own story from this week. so back for my birthday, my parents got me a jewelry kit and the first thing my mom asked me is to make a bracelet for her. she picked out the colors and everything and just so i wouldn’t forget when i would make her bracelet, i took a picture. later on i referenced the picture and made her a green and brown bracelet and gave it to her, she didn’t like it. she said it wasn’t the right colors. so, i gave the bracelet to my gf because she liked it. anyways, my mom decides to take one of the bracelets from my room that my girlfriend has made for me. obviously i tried to get it back, but she wouldn’t give it back and said she would when i made her a new bracelet. so again, she picked out the colors and even decided the order. unfortunately it got out of the order, but i was still able to make the bracelet look nice. i gave it to her on mother’s day. she complained about it not being in the right order and she also never gave me the bracelet she took back (i never asked though). so anyways, monday she decided to swap out the bracelet she took for my favorite brown bracelet (my girlfriend also gave me) and i tried to get that back and she wouldn’t let me. this time i was reaching for her wrists to get it back and accidentally broke the bracelet i made for her. because of that, she threatened to cut the brown bracelet. she didn’t though. tuesday night, im about to go to sleep and she decides to poke my legs for fun, so i’m moving my legs different directions and accidentally kick her (mind you, this is why i’m laying down) and so she gets upset, hits me then takes another piece of jewelry from my dresser. she went in my bathroom and locked the door so i couldn’t get it, then she unlocks it and i go in to realize it’s a necklace i made for myself a while back (this isn’t the first time she’s taken it). i try to reach for it back but she was holding my wrists so i couldn’t and i went back in bed upset. i didn’t sleep though. she went out to walk the dogs and i decided to do something small that would irk her. i took all of her hair tied and moved it to a purse i know she doesn’t go through. i also took one of each of her watch straps and put them there too. she has a detachable crystal necklace and i took the crystal out and put it in her boyfriends shoe. all this because i was upset, i put (mostly) everything back but realized that two wrongs don’t make a right. anyways, sorry for this story being so long. also i still haven’t gotten my brown bracelet nor my necklace back :,)

I kinda have parents like the stepmom in my family, only their my biological parents, and it's both my mom and my dad, I can remember them always telling me to come socialize at family gatherings, and whenever I go somewhere else when the family's together, they ask me why I never want to spend time with the family, and It just irritates me so badly I just want to scream, but if I even dare talk back and say how I really feel, or disagree with them at all, I'm afraid they'll just throw so many insults at me to the point of tears like they have before, they just CAN NOT accept me for how I am, my brother is so extraverted it's kinda annoying to someone like me, and the rest of my family like to claim they're "iNtRoVeRtS" too, but they get upset when I keep to myself, and when I tell anyone at all about how my parents act, my parents flip saying I'm trying to make myself out to be the victim, and I'm being way overdramatic, tell me if I'm wrong to want to get away from them a lot more than I did before they got this way

Oh please these stories made me pissed. As an introvert person, I feel the son. I've had family members complain but hey I am happy with the way I am. As for the mother in law though, what? That's not even your own son so why do you feel that he's obligated to buy you stuff? She also said hurtful words by calling his gift as crappy yet no one seemed to care about that. And for the last story, just call the cops. Report her. No child deserves that. Just because they're your kid doesn't mean you can do anything you want with them. Hello? It's a child, a living thing. It's not like a toy or something that you can play with. Jeez, what an irresponsible and terrible parent she is.

My daughter is almost two and will barely eat fruit or vegetables but she loves carbs like no one else I know I make sure she eats and leave food out for her because she also snacks threw out the day. She is already 26 pounds and the doctor said she will most likely be 5 foot 7 and take after her dad. Her father is concerned over weight when I'm extremely underweight for my age and build. I would never ever deny her lunch because it can cause a bad relationship with food and cause mental health issues. Every time she doesn't eat I make her something else in hopes she will eat it. I have seen some of my close friends struggle with self image and food and even though my daughter is a big girl I still tell her how much I love her fat rolls and all even when she gets older if she feels like she is overweight and we will check instead of going with what she says then if she wants to fix it we will help her. But no one should starve there child to make them slimmer it isn't right.

For the first story, I’m an introvert as well. I hate talking to people and being in crowds and large groups, I get it. And I completely get not wanting to talk often. I would rather stay in my space and not be around people most of the time. However…I can understand it being awkward when you go to an outing with a group of people and try to talk to someone and they just ignore you because you don’t want to talk…if you don’t want to socialize then don’t go. It does kind of ruin the whole thing. I’ve both been that awkward person and tried to talk to someone who just turned around and ignored me at a family gathering. I just think it’s rude to not speak to people when they talk to you that’s all. But I do agree that the stepmom was over the top and unnecessary.

The third story is a reason why not everyone is fit to be a parent, the sister better not surprised when her daughter refuses to speak with her, or the mom is going to end up paying for her daughter's therapy. If she is worried about her daughter health, she can give her at least healthy food like vegetables and fruits.

If anyone ever forced an extrovert to be by themselves and not talk to anyone, there’d be an uproar about how abusive that is. So why is it so acceptable for people to force us introverts to be social butterflies? (Says the woman who hasn’t left the house in four days. 😊)

Last story: I'd call both CPS and the cops on the sister and I'd also tell her parents about how she's refusing to properly feed their grandchild. People like that, who view their child as an accessory, should absolutely not be parents! She's setting her daughter up for a future of eating disorders.
