@@kayshawnsimmons6822 Yes he is known. But not for being a legend. He's known bc of using the synthesizer in his music. It was he who introduced us to Shirley Murdoch. I can understand where a lot of this went wrong or how it can go wrong. I am very involved with my family and would really hate to think that we would do anything like that to each other. Hearing stories like these and also adding other aspects into the equation such as the industry, egos and other factors can make a person lose one’s self if they allow it. In this case, however it has gone, I wouldn’t say that you should not ever do business with family because as we all know families come in many different forms and shapes; you just can’t always trust everyone. I would like to personally think that I wouldn’t let a dollar change me and turn me against my family, if that were the case in this story and so many others that I’ve heard. So I don’t think it’s so much don’t do business with family, I think it’s more so of just making sure that you are trustworthy and also able to trust the people or persons that you are in business with and not lose who you are in that process.

That whole family has been through it! Roger’s son, Roger Lynch, passed away four years after his dad from a mysterious head injury. And I recently found out that Lexi Alajai (not sure of the spelling), and up and coming rapper who passed of a drug overdose last year, was Roger Lynch’s daughter and Roger Troutman’s granddaughter. It’s just a whole messed up situation…

I met Roger Troutman at a record shop in Charleston SC when computer love first came out I begged my mom to take me to meet them she did we took a pic together that night they had a show my sister & I went we had so much fun! The audience noticed how the band was all over us. The next night we went to see them again this time we met Shirley Murdock she was so sweet we came to the show about an hour before the show started, Shirley Murdock stepped down off the stage introduced herself to us & told us that her album would be out soon. When the show started Roger Troutman stepped off the stage and came over to our table the spot light followed him & when he came over to our table girls & guys we knew from our neighborhood mouths were hanging wide open those haters couldn't believe it! It's more to this story you have to read my book🤭

Sadness overload, because Larry really needed lots of therapy, a financial literacy program to teach him how to recoup from real estate (which is generational wealth when done right), (business LLC’s for the empire especially one for Roger & his children) and a stress management outlet (exercise, writing, meditation etc.). Well could’ve, should’ve or would’ve but never did and that’s a tragedy for Roger and Zap Enterprise. Remember you can’t afford to help everyone if you can’t help yourself first.

The sad part is that if Larry was allegedly on drugs, it sounds like self-medication. Like I said above, Vietnam messed him up. Most of the military suffered from PTSD. And alot of soldiers of color suffered even worse because there were no resources like therapy offered to them unlike their white counterparts. I'm not excusing him for killing his brother, but it sounded like Larry wasn't able to go through the proper channels for help. Js....

More Bounce To The Ounce is still a Jam, I still listen to it! Roger made listeners really take note of the the talking box. Honestly, we real, true music lovers and fans noticed it when Stevie used it. In all fairness we always expected genius from Stevie… It was a given, it was Stevie Wonder. Roger pumped it up when he did the entire song with the talking box, layering it with that electrified super FUNK! Great video Ashley!

Ashley this was a very sad story because Roger Troutman had just been reintroduce to a younger audience because Rap music was just blowing up and with Rapper's sampling Roger's music the Rapper's was reintroduced to the voicebox . I do believe that Roger Troutman should have retired Larry from Troutman Enterprises because the business was not going to survive. And Roger Troutman should have brought them all together and told them that he was considering going solo as an artist.

Someone who is high end, in the industry, told me, Larry was jealous of Roger, because, when they went broke, there were a lot of stars, that would put money together for Roger, for projects, and he got big money, and didn't have to share it with Larry. Larry felt Roger was leaving the family business hanging. He wanted to touch some of every penny, that Roger made, or had given to him. The industry was taking care of Roger, because Larry was spending all of the money, but Roger was the star. 🤞🏾😬
