We saw this place on your channel and booked a birthday lunch on one of our last days in Tokyo. Chef was so hospitable and warm. He made a special birthday note wish to the bday guy and gave us his personal recommendations for food to try in our last hours. Sharing his food and wisdom came straight from the heart. The staff was also fabulous. What a wonderful experience! Thank you!

Look at the difference in this episode and the last one. Her hair is high lighted to bring out the beautiful angular features of her face. The dark jacket and the light blouse add to the effect. When it's just her and the chef , I notice more details like him scoring the shrimp with a knife so the batter will bind to the surface. The chef seems like such a nice accommodating man. His staff obviously respects him and the restaurant looks like a lab. It looks so clean and orderly. I watched it three times. I just loved it!

When I was a kid I loved eating shrimp heads, and my mom always gave me the evil eye! I will have to share this with her! LOL. TBH they never looked this good back then, the chef can make anything look amazing. Thank you for sharing your adventures

And his English is very good. Did he go to school in the states? Don't hear the British accent. He would be a great guide for English speaking tourists learning to eat Japanese food.

It really is the best way to have tempura. We've been to a number of omakase tempura places in Japan and they have been sensational. The next time we go we'd love to try Koichiro Shimura's restaurant. It looks fabulous!

Am I the only one who doesn't like to eat several dishes and courses and prefer one dish?. I like to enjoy my plate from start to finish and not have a different dish after only couple of bites and change my palate. Even my stomach feels it easier to digest. I like watching these videos, but this type of cuisine isn't for me.
