just letting you know that the bands are not the same. The older band or clasp has a flushed lock at the back and the new model is not and it is the same with the rolex's clasp. Which in my opinion I found the older models feels more smoother on the arm. But neither the less, the new model is a very beautiful piece of art. Actually I just bought one for my self! +Jason de Souza it's difficult, they are both amazing. I would maybe ask you, what you want to do with it? Wear it only on special occasions or every day? I think if it's suppose to be a daily wear then the 300M would be better (300m water resistant, saphire glass). The Moonwatch is living history, beautiful and just amazing to look at, but because of the Hesalit glass it's easier the get scratched.

+LMB E90 335i I'm a typical desk diver and so far the watch was amazing. It obviously has some scratches on the band where it touches the desk, but I would call them not really visible until you get close up. At the same time I own more than 30 watches and none of them gets more than 3-4 days a months on my wrist, therefore I cannot tell you how it would look if this would be the only watch I have. But if you service the watch after 5-7 years Omega will remove all minor scratches and will polish the bracelet and case to make it look new again.

Hello thanks for the great video, I have just bought this watch, It is my first luxury watch and I LOVE it!! Only problem is the size of the bracelet...it's a bit loose which makes it slightly uncomfortable but too tight with a half link removed. My options are to buy an micro adjustable clasp but I think they're about £180 which I find quite expensive for a clasp or change to a NATO. Omega NATO (again expensive at £120) or a cheaper NATO at about £15 (which may take away the luxury look and feel of the watch. Any suggestions?....thanks again.

I have to check, but there should be micro-adjustmens in the clasp to move the band slightly. However, I am not a fan of aftermarket straps as the look of any watch (exception Panerai) is going to change most of the times to the worse. Try to find a link online from a private seller in one of the forums. Maybe someone is selling one link and you could pay less. Worst case I would get a genuine link from Omega. Good luck

+AZIZ HIDAYET GUMUSAY that's the Helium escape valve, which is used when ascending from deep diving. As I don't dive at all I didn't go into detail. For everyday use it's irrelevant and you don't use it at all. It's sole purpose is to let the Helium gas, that is produced in deep sea diving, out of the watch to prevent damage. Hope that helps.

It's a personal choice, but it depends on if you will always wear it or if you have already or will have other watches in the future to change. I got a black Quartz first and the blue a few years later. I love them both, but I have to say the new ceramic bezel makes it look even more amazing. I guess black if one watch, blue if you have/plan more. Regarding Rolex, it's difficult to predict, but Omega is on the right way and they are making amazing watches. Maybe look as well at Tudor, the BlackBay is beautiful too.

Hi! Last week I bought this watch. And I love it!! Although it DOES work perfectly, I however wonder about this "red dot". Do you have any idea why there is none on my watch? I did buy my OMEGA from an authorized retailer here in Sweden, so there is really no doubt that the watch is not false (and I did get all the warranty cards etc.). I mean, is this red dot supposed to be found on all new watches? I really can't imagine that anyone (already) would have opened my watch... /Joakim

Not sure, but the information I have is that it's a sign of that the watch has never been open after it left the factory. I'd check with the retailer you got it from. All the best.

PatricksTechReviews Thanks so much for helping me! I actually contacted OMEGA, and they let me know that - starting June 1st - they no longer add this "red dot" to their fabric new watches. "This process of visual identification [which the "red dot" was supposed to be] is no longer needed from now on", they said. Nevertheless, I did experience a huge relief as I read that - since my "worries" where no longer needed. :) Besides, it took them less than 8 hours to reply to my request! Fantastic, considering I sent it 2 o'clock in the morning.... :-)

I have them both, my first 300M was the Quartz version with the wave pattern on the dial and then this blue one. If you look at them side by side the new blue one looks more valuable and "richer" in color and depth when looking at the dial.

Can't comment on the wooden box, but if the papers match up with the serial number on the backside and the dealer is a trusted seller it should be ok. The red dot usually is an indicator that the watch has not been opened since it left the factory.

Hello Patrick, could you give me an idea why would you spend so much money for an quartz watch? I understand the automatic one has incredibly well engineered movement and I would pay the money for it, but the quartz I feel like paying all that money just for the brand name. Of course it's a beautiful high quality watch but still doesn't fill in the couple of thousand $ gap to where it's priced at. To be honest I didn't even know Omega made quartz watches.

Sure, I can try. I did buy the 300M as Quartz as I have over 25 watches and I bought it together with my AquaTerra together which allowed me to get a great deal. I wanted it and it's great for days when I don't feel like setting the time and date in the morning when I am rushing to work. That is the ideal scenario for a Quartz movement. Hope that makes sense. I like Omega, but at the same time I like many other brands. I was even thinking of getting a Rolex, but somehow I looked at Tudor and find the BlackBay in Blue very attractive for a great price.
