My dad worked as a mailman for the town of Winnetka during these Home Alone filming years. The Home Alone house was not one of the homes assigned to his direct mail route, but he did drive us past the house during the early 90's when we were kids, and the owners at the time had a cardboard cutout of Kevin McCallister looking out the front window by the door. Good times.

LOVE THIS!! What a beautiful home. I recently watched a video from an interview of the girl (now woman) who lived their during the filming. She was young.. maybe Macaulay’s age at the time? Anyway, she spoke about the experience and how wonderful it was. The family was surprised by how successful the movie became. She said she knew something “great was happening”when filming but didn’t realize the scope of how deeply this movie would touch people. As you mentioned, it IS THE MOVIE of a generation and an all-time classic! I am watching part 2 right now. Absolutely love both of them. Another thing the woman mentioned was that the family came to appreciate the love and adoration fans had for the movie and the house. As people lined up outside their house in winter 1990 after the film was released to take pictures of and to witness in person the house. Eventually, it grew on the family the winters/years after and it became part of Christmas for her. Pretty damn cool! Sadly tho, that family moved out a few years back and others live there now but.. truly an awsome house and always loved it. Anytime I pass by a house that looks even remotely similar , I think about this house. Absolutely perfect for this movie. Such an amazing movie. I HAVE to go visit that house myself one day. Would be fantastic! Thanks for the video!

This was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre. I was 6 years old. I grew up watching this movie every Christmas with my family. Brings back such great memories. I've always been obsessed with this movie. The music by John Williams is just so magical. I own the soundtrack and listen to it every Christmas. The Home Alone House is just beautiful. The casting was perfect. How I feel about Home Alone is how my dad feels about A Christmas Story. Both are great Christmas classics. I just have always had a connection with Home Alone. I secretly stalk this house and saw it was for sale a few years ago. I found a realtor on KZbin who did a tour of the home. The pervious owners have since updated everything. The people who bought this house apparently don't like people coming to take pictures near it. That honestly makes me upset. This is a famous house from one of the best Christmas movies in my opinion that has touched so many of our hearts. They shouldn't have purchased it if thats an issue for them. What Assholes! A gate is not going to stop people from coming to photograph it. I would love to purchase this home one day and restore it to exactly how it was in the movie. Around Christmas time I would give tours of the home and serve hot coco to anyone who visited it. Just a little dream I have. My son is two and I can't wait for us to start a tradition of watching it together every year. Thanks so much for the great video. You guys are the best! I would never turn the sprinklers on you. God I just want to punch the owners now.

I love this movie so much. It's an instant trip back to childhood. The goodness, the optimism and the fun in the movie is so good, it's an uplifting film. The 2and part is the reason why I wish to visit the plaza. The bridge over the train scene is splendid. We need Hollywood and Bollywood to make such good movies again. ❤

Same here, or at top 10. I struggle to chose only one. But its definitely a magical one, along with home alone 2. ❤️I had a huge crush on Macaulay Culkin growing up. Watched and owned all of his movies. Richie rich, the good son, my girl etc.

Great work, guys! I love the Home Alone movies. I was in the 6th grade when the first one came out and always imagined that happening to me when I was a kid. It's just an all around feel good Christmas movie; a modern classic now. Hard to believe it came out so long ago now. I remember watching the trailers for this movie on TV and being so excited to go see it. I still remember seeing this in the theaters with my family, like it was yesterday.

Both home alone movies are my favorites. Both are special to me. As an 80s baby I watched these over and over growing up. Reminds me of good times living with my grandparents. My grandma used to put both of these movies, including the goonies on all the time for me. Great times, great movies.

It’s really interesting to see the surroundings of the scenes & little clips of the part of the movie your talking about. The church part is my favorite part. When I was a kid, I liked that part when they’re running through the airport, cause of the song, run, run Rudolph. I have that song on my iPhone. 😆

I would agree with that. Jacob Marley was the ghost, who rattled his chains and wandered around tormented by his lifetime’s actions. He was a warning to Scrooge, “you could end up like me.” Scrooge wanted to have nothing to do with him.

I have to admit something... I'm a cashier at a grocery store and sometimes i talk about that scene at 9:05 (when Kevin walks home with his grocery bags) to my clients... some of them get it and laugh, some of them don't know what i'm talking about.
