i worked at the kona airport many years and i would occasionally see passengers that missed their flight and couldn't afford a hotel room, sleeping on the hard wooden benches in the abandoned rental car area. We called it the kona hilton. Your van adventure was way more comfortable than some people's layovers in hawaii and i'm shocked at how cheap that camping spot is. btw... last nite i tried a new item on the mcdonalds menu here in osaka. It was called the garlic shrimp burger and part of a hawaiian burger series. It was kind of a disappointment as there was hardly any garlic taste. Nothing like north shore garlic but it was cheap. $5.39 for a set meal. I hope to see vlogs of you in japan someday. Perhaps a trip down to okinawa too. Lots of islands to take day trips to and the water is way warmer than hawaii in the summer and yes they have garlic shrimp and poke in okinawa

Because you did not do COVID tests (currently entry to USA does not require the test), most of the passengers in the cabin were Koreans, and you did not explicitly revealed your next destination in you previous video, I thought you were going home, Arizona (I missed your comment regarding the cabin music). It's nice to have a break at home around the anniversary of the start of your journey. By the way, when you mentioned Jeju-do in one of you recent comments, I thought about replying to you that if you want to see a volcanic landscape and will ever travel to Hawaii or Iceland, you don't need to visit Jeju-do, and here we are.

pleasant surprise stop in Hawaii... did not guess it (had Philippines) and shocked that was the cheapest ticket out of south Korea and not neighboring countries! strange times indeed. still think its gonna be the Philippines...hmmmm very frugal way to spend a day in Hawaii... definitely the smart way to sleep in hawaii to save ALOT as its so expensive. definitely something to consider for next time in Hawaii..

You have to have some weirdly uncomfortable nights or you aren’t really backpacking haha, we had to sleep outside Jakarta domestic airport because we missed the closing of the doors by 15mins (if we had been inside we would have been able to stay 8n there) on our packs on luggage trolleys and it was hot and humid and uncomfortable but it’s all part of the experience same as you just a pashmina to lay under. Looks like you had great fun. booking on no sleeps always ends up with booking the wrong day month or year for a hotel for me worst was Hong Kong right day but for the following year turned up the next day to check in and no booking thank goodness they moved us to sister hotel no extra charge just down the road.

What a great choice that you guys chose Hawaii! It’s one of my favourite places to travel to. You guys are so resourceful if you can call it that 🫢 And yes it’s very expensive and I hope you get to see Waikiki Beach 🏖.. And the infamous Pink Palace Hotel and the rest of the main beach. Having said that a Van Stop over is so much better than sitting in an Airport lounge… good idea to hire a vehicle. Unfortunately if you got to stay longer you would have seen a huge amount of houseless local Hawaiians!! 😞😥 USA has claimed Hawaii as another state and the locals have been robbed for years. The Military Base at Pearl Harbour is one of the reasons why USA has claimed this island and stolen it from the Polynesian Locals .. But the locals are fighting back to get back what is rightfully it’s own sovereign Island and hopefully the locals can live in peace again🙏🏻🙏🏻😊 Tourists is a big business but USA controls which sadly i don’t agree and this is my opinion and many local village opinions that Hawaiians have been dealt a very bad deck of cards!! You should read a little about this wonder of the world called the Hawaiian Islands. Anyway I’m glad you got to go swimming, eat seafood, and soon to see an amazing sunset.. Sleep hard in that Van guys ✌🏻🫢😂🙏🏻

My home state! Not a bad place to layover... Vanlife in Hawaii?? Too warm and humid, unless you park by the beach with breezes, but then you run the risk of mosquitoes when the breezes stop, or you can just run the AC all night long. $15.50 for a plate of shrimp is not too bad...welcome back to the country with very high inflation. Prices are way up on everything. You should walk through a grocery store and look at the prices. Everything has to be shipped in... Where are you headed to next that you are in Hawaii? I'm guessing somewhere in the US? I guess I'll just have to stay tuned as you guys never reveal this info until you're there...on the edge of my seat!
