I use your recipe for white bread but add fresh basil and rosemary in olive oil. Absolutely delicious...it makes great sandwiches or toast with my homemade soups. Thx

That sounds amazing Ann! I have never even tried to do anything like that, and now you have me wanting to. I bet it is absolutely delicious. I will have to experiment with that. I'm sure it is so good with sandwiches and soups. Yum! Thanks so much!

I did half recipe, one loaf. Used half spelt half bread flour. Came out super good. I needed a quick loaf for dinner and this recipe filled the bill. I will make it again. Thank you!😊

Love this! I’ve been restocking my freezer with homemade bread, hotdog, hamburger buns, sub rolls. We finally got a small break from the heat so I’m taking advantage of that. Thanks for the recipe! I’ll certainly give this a go!
@RobynOnTheFarm4 ай бұрын
That is a great idea to do Liza, especially for the hamburger buns, I'm always caught without those when I need them. I usually have a few loaves ready to pull out if needed but I didn't the other day and had to make this 1 hour bread--and I'm glad I did, but I should have been prepared with some to pull out of the freezer! Definitely try this recipe--so good and so fast. I hope you're doing well Liza!

I need to make 50 loafs to feed the homeless through the dining with dignity program here in St Augustine Florida. I can bake 4 batches at a time but have a huge mixer. If I bulk mix can I shape and refrigerate? Will that ruin the bread? I expect the shaped bread will rise a bit while it waits it's turn for the oven. Also can this recipe be used to make burger and hotdog buns?
@RobynOnTheFarm4 ай бұрын
Hi Laura! That is so awesome that you’re doing that! That sounds like a big task. Yes! You can bulk mix this dough, shape, and refrigerate to bake later (I wouldn’t go longer than overnight). Also, you can pop the dough into the fridge after the first rise (in an air tight container so it doesn’t dry out), then get out, shape, and put into the oven. Either way works. Usually I do let mine come to room temperature before shaping when I do it that way. And yes, this is a good recipe for hamburger and hotdog buns, too. Good luck with this huge undertaking!! I hope the loaves turn out fantastic!!!!

I have a 7 qt. enameled Cast Iron oval baker w/lid. Could this just be kept in 1 piece and made into one loaf? If so, how long do you think it would take to bake? Would it also bake on the same temperature??
@RobynOnTheFarm4 ай бұрын
Great question! I have baked bread in the large dutch ovens, but I have always kept the loaves the same size as a normal loaf-I’m not sure about keeping it as one large loaf. I’m sure you could but I’d have to do some experimenting to see how that would change the time and temperature. Sorry, I’m not much help! But now I’d like to see how it would work! Thanks so much for the question, and if you try it, let me know what you discover!
