How can you give a thumbs down to someone who builds his own house/cabin.You should rethink things over, this guy is providing shelter for his child, and now owns and is rent free of which he built with his own hands, using the land to live the DREAM that many do not, this guy has proved that will power and mind over matter you can do anything you set out to do with hard work ,time and effort ...this is freedom shining and what it represents that many don't have world wide...well done to this individual ,may your needs be met when needed,...

I didn't thumbs down but I was one of the rare people just a bit confused and puzzled quite a few times during the video. First of all he did an amazing job, no question about that. My first point would be, it's actually a small house, it's not what people think of when they hear cabin, so I was a bit confounded during the first quarter. Man builds house, much better title set up. Anyways, the second point would be he made it much more complicated and effortful for himself than it needed to be, much much more. The supports and ground work was totally unnecessary, he could have simply just made an outline of the house on the ground and filled it with concrete. That would mean there's no need for heavy, long wooden beams also because the ground is very sturdy and flat. The roof are was way too over complicated, putting the beams flat instead of on their side made it much more difficult and also he used too many beams - it's sturdier and looks nicer but there wasn't a need imo. The windows and door style was disappointing after all that work, as was the kitchen. It's a job well done, but over complicated it for himself.
