Mil-spec is always top of the line material, but also most of the time compromise weight. I still remember when I ETS from the military I begun doing hikes & I used to use my Molly-II system. The first hike was a killer. I carried over 50 lbs. at the the AT. Can you imagine that? Crazy right? You know I was still had the military mentality & it was hard for me to understand the lighter the better when it come to hiking world. Thanks Luke!

I'm wondering if your house has an old-fashioned in-floor heater like our mountain house, with a floor grate that gets hot and you laid your pack on the floor and it fell over and touched part of the grate...

I think you set the pack on your chain saw without the guard on and then dragged it across the teeth when retrieving it. Looks like a nice pack anyway.

Now, that's what I'm "not" talkin' about.....I grew up using army surplus packs when I was 10.....want nothing to do with that style now. As soon as I decide to start going on maneuvers I will get me one.

Looks like it's melted on one side, but torn on the other side. I would guess a saw like a lap lander or a bow saw. For the melted looking parts, I'll take a random guess at a metal hotdog stick! hah great video and a nice score!!

Hey Luke, great review. How does the quality of this bag measure up to the specops recon Alice pack that you reviewed a few months back? Looks like you may have laid it down on some sort of saw, i.e. Chainsaw.

HI LUKE, I was wondering if I can pick your brain. I know you have done reviews on numerous packs and I was wanting your opinion. Recently someone broke into my car and took my Camelback BFM pack with my EDC items. It was an expensive pack filled with a lot of EDC items. I want to start all over again (now that I have calmed down) but I don't want to get another expensive pack. I would like to get a decent, well made, reasonably priced pack. In all your reviews, I was wondering if you had any recommendations. I also wanted you to know that I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayer and you have limited time to answer. Thanks for the videos and the adventures...Sometimes when I can't get away I take a trip to Lone Wolf Mountain with you. Ken T

Nice review Luke, as usual. The FPG web site claims the 4500+ cubic inch capacity (74 liters) you mentioned. Do you agree with the size? I have one of these packs and it appears to be significantly smaller than 74 liters, perhaps 50 to 55 liters at most. Aside from that question, I agree the FOR83 is a high quality, well constructed pack. And you're right: it's quite comfortable even with heavy loads. Thanks for your video!

$439??? LOL I don't think this will be on my wish list any time soon. Military surplus used to be just that. Surplus. And it was bought by wholesalers by the pallet and sold pretty much by the pound. Things have changed quite a bit since I was in my 20s...
@panzerabwerkanone9 жыл бұрын
+mobiltec Maybe built to milspec but without a NSN it is not technically a modern milsurp item. The only way you might see this in the military is with units that can use outside buys to get their gear or a member who buys their own.

Clearly Bigfoot or Lone Wolf claw damage. Does the Forceprotector Marpack have an actual self protection system to protect it from Lone Wolf, Bigfoot or burn damage from your fire grill? What's their warranty? I hope they have a good one for that price. I'd absolve myself of any responsibility for my own stupidity and blame it on aliens.
