Your soul is the "real you"..... when your body dies, its the part of you that will continue to live in Heaven or suffer in Hell forever. Even if you do not believe in Heaven or Hell, it will not change the outcome for you, you will still end up in one of these two places when you die. Jesus Christ is the only true savior for the world. The blood of Jesus is the only substance pure enough and holy enough to wash the sins from your heart. I had ayoung horse get a similar injury years ago and this is exactly what my vet did. They have an amazing capacity to heal when they are young when given support like this. Also, to everyone who says to stall it instead of turning it out, it's 3 months old, needs its mother to nurse from constantly and mom needs the green gras to provide the milk; and the grass field is soft ground instead of a concrete stall it will be much more comfortable to walk and stand on and horses need to walk for proper digestion.

@blackdandelion5549 Жыл бұрын
I agree that due to this not being fresh a vet would have likely sedated, seen what the full damage was, if a tendon was damaged then it would need to be stitched back together after the entire wound was pretty much surgically scrubbed out. Then to get that tissue to go back together it would need to be debrided enough to be bleeding again and not healing closed, stitched back together. Then the most sturdy leg wraps possible and almost splint the leg if possible to keep it from moving as much as you can so the stitches and the freshly debrided area have enough time to heal together. Antibiotics to ensure no infections and changing the bandage every few days, but mostly to check the wound and rewrap as I would put the leg in a cast if we did those for equines. Probably stall for a week and limit movement so that leg is used and moved as little as possible. Last time I saw a wound like that an 18 mo old got into a different pasture where the farm tractor was sitting with the scraper bucket on the front. Horse was very sure of himself and believed he could jump it. . . turns out he wasn't as great of a jumper as he thought . . . . . /sigh. This poor baby got into something that made a huge and deep cut. Poor baby.

@boomerbigbutt This is a young foal still on its mother. Please remember, they are in the middle of nowhere. Renato will talk to Vets, send pictures to them, and then going on what they say, do something. That pastern bone can be broken in a horse and the horse recover just fine. A full sized horse. Granted the were in a cast and sling, with weight bearing every few hours. But this is a foal!! A baby!! Still growing, and on its mother. They will do the best they can. They have casted the leg and put the special shoe on it. Therefore, when the foal stops, it's foot is off the ground, but still able to move carefully around with its mother. They will go back in a week to change that cast, because the foal will outgrow it that quickly. They are doing the best they can in difficult condition with the supervision of a vet. I know that it looks like something good for that little baby. But if you looked at her leg, there was a lot of exposed tissue. And some people were saying that she probably severed a tendon. If that is true, than this little girl would need to wear that contraption on her leg for the rest of her life. She may never get to run and play again like the other equines. And if that is her future, then wouldn't it better and more humane to put her to sleep. Then she'd be able to run in Heaven with all the other animals. As sad as that sounds.

It's a tendon injury. If it was severed where the cut was, then I'm not sure that this will help. But she's young, and nature sometimes finds a way. If the tendon was only partially torn it might heal. The horse hoof (or donkey in this case) has tendons for lifting the hoof forward (damaged) and drawing it back (undamaged) without the appropriate tension by having matching tendons, the back set will draw the hoof back, and a lack of undamaged tendons on the front means it's backwards until restricted.

I understand your POV. Seeing that from how far we are with the camera and the fact the entire leg was bent back where it was gives me significant concern that there is a broken bone and tendon damage. I have rehabbed a horse with a broken leg before, but this was with hours of surgery to remove broken pieces that needed to go and rebuild pieces that needed to stay and then 6 mo of having an open wound I needed to clean daily + pcn injections before we went down to oral antibiotics and pain meds. It was expensive, vets require, and a ton of work for months and months. With this bending the way it is and the location I think that if you wanted to fix this then vet intervention and seeing how damaged things really are would be the only way. There are nerves, tendons, and bone in that area and it would take a significant amount of time to potentially fix and even then the animal may never be of use. It's not being said because we don't value humans or mules, but because an equine can not live on three legs and if the chance of fixing it is close to 0% then ending the animals suffering when this is an older wound and things have been exposed to the air for a while would actually be the kindest thing to do. This poor baby had already worn a bare spot with toughened skin on the front of the leg from walking on it. It may have nerve damage if it is walking that way and we would need to test if the animal still had feeling in the fetlock and just above the hoof. We can't really tell the severity of some of these things from youtube, but this one was so bad that if I walked up on that scene bc a friend called and asked for help I would be planning on a kind way to tell them that they need to end the animals suffering while I take a very good look at everything and thoroughly examine if anything can be done. It's not just keeping the animal alive, but QUALITY of LIFE the animal may have even if we can keep the animal's leg functional at all. No one wants a life of misery and suffering and not being able to stay with a herd when they are a herd animal.
@karenneill91099 ай бұрын
@@blackdandelion5549I can’t fathom that leg healing without major surgical intervention. The sides of the wound were already healed open, and bone was visible. It looked like at least one tendon was cut clear through. Maybe it’s worth a shot- donkeys can be remarkably hardy things. But I wouldn’t be optimistic.
@blackdandelion55499 ай бұрын
@@karenneill9109 My actual comment on the post says how the tissue has been exposed to the elements for some time. I do understand people wanting to think everything is fixable, but 20 years of my life with horses/equines says this is not viable tissue. I don't know the extent of the damage, but due to the movement I would bet a tendon is severed and possibly all nerves. Under 2 yrs a broken bone is easier to fix on a an equine as they don't have the weight yet, but it would have needed to be done right away after it happened and IDK what X-rays would have shown either. That bone could be powder now. If I was walking up to the situation I would be preparing myself to have to tell the owner the animal needs to be put down. I can't set that and brace it on stall rest (no walking around except maybe some hand walking everyday to prevent fluid build up). I can't do micro surgery to reattach tendons in the field. I have no tissue left alive to sew back together. It's a sad case. I don't believe it's viable.

These kinds of things can happen even with the best care just like a human child can be perfectly cared for and still break an arm on the playground. The wound looks to be relatively fresh as it isn't full of flies or necrosis and the top of the leg that it was walking on was dirty, but not raw or callused. This is the standard of care for this type of injury on such a young horse. I had someone dump trash over the fence into my pasture while I was at work and my colt had already injured herself on it by time I was home. Things happen beyond your control.

I can respect having hope, but significant education and experience tells me that the tissue and leg do not look viable to heal. The tissue I can see in the video is dead and has been exposed to the elements for some time and is lifted from the bone of the leg. The bone or inner section is exposed and is not fresh and I don't know how it could be debrided and/or the tissue stretched to go back to the way it was. Fixing a bone means no movement and a splint when the bone is set correctly and tendons can take much longer if they are still viable. Pro Tip - If your horse has an accident like they skin their leg and the skin/fur just falls down and will need stitches or they cut themselves open in the worst place and if it stays open there are things in the opening that could be harmed - Use DUCT TAPE to hold skin flaps together so they do not dry up and shrink as it's so hard to pull the skin back out and the open parts under what the skin is supposed to cover can get dirty, dry out, and become infected or even die or function poorly afterward. Think of it like a large bandaid. Duct tape the skin flaps as close as reconnected as you can and call your vet to get stitches put in. It saves the skin tissue and what's underneath it!!! Duct Tape - Never leave home without it!

@@rosetomarchio7246 Mules actually hide their pain more than a horse does where they show lameness and limping. A mule can come in from pasture and go at grain with a 2 inch hole in it's chest and only the owner will notice something is off. They really hide it, but it doesn't mean they are not in pain or that they don't need any pain meds or probably anti-inflammatories or antibiotics in this case. In many situations pain meds are not given to both animals and people because the pain is doing it's job in telling the animal/person to not use that limb, step on that sore foot, rub up against things when they have an open wound and most vets prefer to take the natural route and only give pain meds when the desired effect of less pain will be helpful to the recovery, like a horse that needs to be walking around, but doesn't because of a laminitis flare up - needs to be moving to not just gain weight and stand around all day even with slightly sore feet.

@blackdandelion554911 ай бұрын
We have far more access to vets in the US. Far more access. In some other countries I know horse/equine owners where it takes a vet two days to get to their location when they call. This makes issues like colic and immediate treatment very hard as the owners need to be more prepared and educated, but I am speaking of people who can afford it. Some people have these animals for work and still use them for work. Some do not have vet access. Some do not have funds for vets and medical care and before you say they shouldn't have the animals. . . . .they may not be able to function without them. I know several people from another country I have hired as farriers and they learned all of their skills from the time they were kids as there was no farrier school and it was a trade you learned while working to bring in cattle and you needed horses that would not be lame so skills were handed down. Last farrier my dad had still did all of his own meds including sedation and did dentals because there was no equine dentists and no rotary electric dental tools. Not every person who has animals has access to the things we do in the US. In some cases it's very DIY like it was in my parents days of being very rural. There is also not animal cops or people in that role in many countries and this is why there are feral dog problems in places, including in the US btw. Who would be going out to these farms and checking on their livestock? Who would be snitching on their neighbor when this looks like the foal obviously had a major accident of some kind? Lack of access to vet care Lack of means and affordable care Remote and rural areas Probably not the most college educated people and people who are just trying to make it through in life with what they have. These have had fences that are simple t-posts, some have buildings and some don't. I don't see them running a major business or high end job out of their home or in the area they live in. Lack of outreach such as animal control/animal rescues and clinics for education on animal care by current standards. Some people just don't care and it gets a lot of views on youtube. Some of those dog grooming videos have been exposed as frauds where the dog is left to be matted or the dog rescue videos are staged. It gets views.

Just a curious question..... Instead of that rope harness setup why couldn't it just have a splint put on it?
@ThankfulRain8 ай бұрын
A splint wouldn't allow movement and would cause more damage from pressure and could deform the leg as the baby grows, it's not a broken bone, it's a tendon issue, if the tendon is still attached some it can heal with support like this.
