We will be going to Japan in late March 2024. We arrive at Haneda at 5:30 am. I don’t know how long it will take to go through customs. We are staying at a ryokan in Kita Ward. The Akabane Station is the closest train station in that area to the Ryokan. What is the best way to get there? I understand rush hour is from 7:30 to 9:30 am. And that we need to avoid that.
@hzx40217 ай бұрын
Hi, you can either 1. take the monorail (MO) to Hamamatsucho and then transfer to JR Keihin-Tohoku Line (JK), or 2. use Keikyu Line (KK) to Shinagawa and then take JR Ueno-Tokyo Line (JT/JU) to Akabane. Unfortunately, both routes are very crowded on rush hours as they pass through several mega stations such as Shinagawa, Shinbashi and Tokyo and I think there is no way to avoid those crowds. I personally recommend Keikyu to Shinagawa → JR to Akabane since you spend less time on the JR train.

I am planning take shinkansen from Kyoto to Shinagawa and then take Keikyu Line to Sengakuji station to take Tokyo Metro Subway (Toei Asakusa Line) to Kuramae. In my case, it is opposite direction from your video. Once I get off at Shinagawa JR station, I need to go to transfer gate to Keikyu line (Shinagawa) to take the train to Sengakuji station. Am I correct? Do I just need to buy a ticket of Keikyu line before I head to transfer gate to Keikyu line?
@ONEGOODDREAM6 ай бұрын
it's a bit different. when you arrive at Shinagawa shinkansen station, you exit the shinkansen station and go to Shinagawa KEIKYU LINE station downstairs (the opposite of this video from 15:44). there's a Keikyu line directly to Kuramae station, depending on time. you need to buy a ticket for the KEIKYU line at Shinagawa Keikyu station before boarding.

Thank you so much for watching!🙏 You only need to buy 1 ticket at Haneda Airport (like I did at 6:28 in the video). The ticket is from HANEDA Airport - Shinjuku station, for both Keikyu line and Yamanote line, so you don't have to buy anymore ticket. When you put the ticket in the 2 in 1 gate to Yamanote line, the ticket will come back out. Please take that ticket, keep it and use that same ticket to get out at Shinjuku station. The ticket will not come out at Shinjuku station because that's the final destination. Hope this helps..

Coming in to Tokyo last time, we used the train. Departing, we used the bus. I didn't want to climb up the stairs, change trains and collide with the crowds. We were standing in the bus at 7 am. The old folks were riding it early. It was only one bus ride stop away to get to the stop for the limousine bus. For that trip, I checked out the transportation options going to the hotel and back to the airport. We're arriving in Narita for our next trip but, departing from Haneda. This gives us the chance to check out the changes made in terms of shopping at both airports. It took time to get the itineraries that would allow us to do so. Thanks for this video. It's not the first time to land or depart in/out of Haneda but, first to use the train to get there from Tokyo for our departure.

hi, if there is a direct train, you can stay on that train and get off at Ningyocho station. at the exit, go to the manned gate and showed both of your ticket and pass to the staff, and explained where you got on the train (departure station). that's it. basically, if you want to use the ticket or pass at the automatic gate, it has to have a departure and a arrival station of the same company. for cases like yours, just go to the manned gate.
