Hi and many thanks for your feedback. Regarding the home menu - can you check whether it will be shown in the receivers front display? Regarding ARC: You must select TV/CD input selector and your TV must be ARC capable. The ARC indicator will light when the audio signal is detected. In the setup, "HDMI Control(RIHD)" must be set to ON, "Audio Return Channel" setting must be enabled - and the Audio Selector should be set to ARC. Please also see manual pages En-62 and En-65/66.

Please apologize the delay. We did some tests in our customer care department trying to reproduce the problem, but did not experience this behaviour. Nethertheless there can be issues in HDMI communication/handshaking between different HDMI devices. According to our experiences, also the cables can make quite a difference. Could you try a different cable between AVR and TV (different manufacturer)?

Hi, the TX-NR616 should not be a problem here, as it will accept and decode the suggested A/V signals above. The main question will be how you can convince your laptop to output the compressed streams via HDMI...

Hi, there I am again. When I turn of the onkyo 616 it's still getting hot. I have to disconnect it from the plug everytime I want to stop it. What can I do?

Hi, we're afraid we cannot recommend any specific 3rd party brands or products. As long as the source outputs a compatible HDMI A/V stream, there should not be any problem. But maybe other users can provide feedback about the above mentioned products...?

7.4 Network is greyed out on my options list. Anyone know why? BTW, it's really interesting you showing what you can choose in the set up options, but is there an explanation of what does what anywhere to refer to? Many thanks

Thanks for the reply. I have already tried three different cabels, so I don't think thats the problem. It works fine after using different hdmi sources. But not after NET apps. If I choose external speakers on the tv, everything seems normal, but there is no sound. And the arc symbol does not apear on the display. Unplug/replug the power of the AVR, and everything works fine.. I have also tried to remove the network cable, and use the wifi adapter (UWF-1) but still have the same problem..

I have this problem too. The ARC dosn't work after I have been using the NET applications. The only fix is to plug the power out/inn. And then the ARC works fine again.. Any ideas?

I tested a little bit more. When I use the net apps. if I chose the HDMI1(AVR) on the tv the AVR returns to TV/CD input, and the ARC is activated :) And then chooce antenna input on the tv. Problem solved.. I would still think it should be enough to just choose TV/CD. But it is not a big problem :)

Would be a possible solution to buy an Asus O!PLAY MINI and connect it to the onkyo and play the streams via usb. It says that has Dolby True HD 7.1... Can you confirm that will work?

Hi, just connect them to the "pre-out" rca/cinch terminals on the rear (active subwoofers required - passive subs will not work) - as described on page En-14 "Using Powered Subwoofers". Please be aware that the same signal will be used to both subwoofers, as it is a parallel subwoofer output. To get be best bass quality, it is always worth trying different room positions for the two subwoofer...

Hi, to reset the EQ settings to factory defaults, please follow these steps (attention: the whole AVR will be reset to factory defaults - any settings changed by you will need to be configured again): 1. While holding down CBL/SAT on the main unit (note that step 2 must be performed with this button pressed down) 2. Press ON/STANDBY on the main unit ("Clear" appears on the display and the unit returns to standby).
