I thought it changed when it went to California and it went from patch up and polish to full strip down and make the car like a new one. That's the point when I didn't feel connected to the show as much as I used to. Hearing conversions from pounds to dollars every 5 minutes is pointless. I expect most people don't have a team of mechanics that work for free and a spare fully equipped garage in the states. I've seen Ant, and he seems like a good laugh. He's also a lot more like the mechanics I've met in real life. The thing I really liked about Edd was when Mike asked him to get into a tiny car. Anyway I thought Edd was getting his own show. Where is that?

Living Alpujarras : my first car as well, had a ‘67 I got from my older sister....rolled it 3 months later. Then got a 74 Super Beetle, had that through high school and until junior in college, then got an ‘80 Audi 4000. Quite a jump in cars, lol...

Kerrick Osburn those taillights were used on 1200 models until 1973 in the UK. I know because I have the exact same ones on mine 👍🏻

Kerrick Osburn it’s interesting all the different options that were available around the world. I’ve learned lots from watching all the American you tubers about how anything after 67 in the states had horrible padded dashed and high back seats. The 68-73 1200 models were considered ‘parts bin’ cars. Using up all the old stuff like blade bumpers and small rear from previous models. You’ll also notice they have the moon cut out pressing behind the rear quarter window but no vent in place. Now they’re quite quirky and uncommon over here. Take it easy my friend👍🏻

Folk loved Beetles and the corresponding camper-vans because of the dream that they represented, back in the late 60s and early 70s..... not because they were that much good. Having beautifully restored vehicles is a bit pointless. The original vehicles were cheap, like 2CVs or minis. For old guys like me, they live in your head.... as it should be....

Wow....I’m surprised at all the negative feeling around the Wheeler Dealers remake. I thought it was just me that missed the old days. Ed was a little bit awkward yet intelligent. His humbleness was a nice contraction and toned down the Brewer’s cheesy geezerness which made it bearable. Bet the makers of the show are kicking themselves for letting Ed go. Sorry Wheeler Dealers but I have to agree with most, the glory days of the show are sadly a thing of the past now. #BringBackEd
