I got mine when Ontario first came out with it. It came with a nylon leather back sheath. At that time all their sheaths in the SP series were made with those materials, really nice. I have a few of the other knifes in the SP series. This is a good knife , I like it

I have a few SP series knives as well but I have a bunch of USN Mark 1 knives and this one was on the wish list. Thanks for watching!

This SP Mark 1 wasn't the first repro MK1 from Ontario. They had a series of WW2 repro knives in the early 90's to include the MK1, Quartermaster, USMC para and maybe a few others that consisted of leather washer grips. I've never used either of the Ontario Mark 1's in a field setting but own them both to go along with my genuine Mark ones. I find the repro's are fun to collect as there were several makers in the 70's up to now with the Kabar (2 variations), Camillus, Western/Coleman and Boker. Probably others that I'm not aware of.

Like you I have a number of different versions, mostly WW2 era knives from different manufacturers and versions, plus a bunch modern versions. This one strikes me as a very simple, robust knife that will probably get some field time. I have done a number of videos on the knives as well, I hope you get to check them out.
