Way overdue. I'm glad she is getting the recognition she deserves. The full package and the talent to back it up. Age is just a number. If you are extraordinary, it will show. One best thing with her is she's very supportive to Filipino contestants. She's proud to be half Filipino. Audra is gonna slay in Gypsy, but it will not be a redefining moment for either her or that show, just another probably very good revival of Gypsy. What Nicole and this production of Sunset Boulevard are doing is transformative, and will actually impact and expand the ways people envision making theater going forward. The way people keep saying they've never seen anything like it tells you how blown away they are by the groundbreaking experience of this production.

I 100% agree, Ms. Scherzinger’s voice and acting are so worthy of the recognition! However, I had major issues with the staging - someone with a theater degree needs to explain the tornadoes of smoke during each of her pivotal songs. I was surprised with the street scene intro into Act II and upon leaving the venue, the security man running along side Tom Francis (Joe Gillis), was outside the theater! Is this part of the show LIVE every night? Or… is it sadly pre-recorded? Did anyone catch the CATS Easter Egg?
@melbamaloney4572Ай бұрын
@@1960mikey No Joe venturing into the streets is happening every night live rain or shine , snow or sleet they were able to pull this off in London every day . The production is prepared for any weather since this is an integral part of the show .When Norma sings “ As if We Never Said Goodbye “ the scene shows smoke and the ensemble behind her watching her which I opine is Norma ‘s delusion that she is still the star and the rest of Hollywood are in awe watching and adoring her . Smoke is always used to connect dreamlike sequences and in each song there was a lot of smoke which propelled Norma ‘s mind that she is still in top form and that her people in the dark are still awaiting for her grand return when she sings “ Just one look “ . Also with the smoke comes the spotlight because in her mind she is still the star that shines the brightest ! Hey that is just my take but in most of productions and concerts I have watched they include smoke for more spectacle and dreamlike aura .Jamie Lloyd is a director of detail and each prop he uses has an impact on the show .
@1960mikeyАй бұрын
@@melbamaloney4572 if I wasn’t seeing 7 shows in 4 days, I could stand outside the St. James to watch this live - this would be exciting to see 8 times a week! I call BS in the dreamlike smoke sessions - cause clearly in the last one, she was taking a steam shower! LOL!

I saw it on Saturday- yes, PHENOMENAL I don’t understand why she hasn’t been a giant star for the last 25 (or whatever) years I don’t agree with Andrew’s “Best ever” statement though- I think Glenn Close was also amazing, and how can you top Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in Phantom? And Ted Neely and Carl Anderson were also GREAT in JC Superstar (I saw a tour with both of them in the 90s). So it’s a six-way tie in my book!!
