Just show the driver's door open, as though you are about to enter the car, show the luscious interior, have Sydney Sweeney all dolled-up sitting in the passenger seat, smiling at you, inviting you to enter (so to speak). Done. Jags will fly out the door. They knew how to do this in the 1960's. Men haven't changed and never will. Great car + sexy girl = Winner.

@@criticalcommenter They marketed, but it wasn't mainstream. Gaming was niche, a smaller market that was primarily driven by creativity and passion because it wasn't seen as a massive gold mine. Once it hit the mainstream, finance and marketing guys became the ones leading the charge. There was actually an interview with a former developer who spoke about Blizzard both before and after they merged with Activision. Before the merger, the accounting guys were a small department primarily there to make sure expenses tracked. After the merger, that department grew and they actually began getting influence over creative decisions. Nowadays it's corporatized and most AAA creative decisions are decided by what's trending on charts.

The girl tweeting from her fridge was entirely manufactured by a social media marketing firm specializing in viral content. Ever notice it always involves a brand and a product they're selling? I hate to break it to you but most of the content going viral out there is fake, staged, and manufactured.

Glad you had a great time at the convention! They can be fun for me too, in small doses. 'Smart' appliances are actually rather stupid. Refrigerators, clothes washers etc. don't need to be online. You can tweet from the online interface on a refrigerator? Why? The only thing an appliance needs to do online, if anything at all, is maybe sending a canned alarm notification that it is breaking down or leaking water or something. They don't need to be able to get on social media. Who is Captain Falcon? Who is the blonde with the big stick in the lower right corner? I've fallen behind on my MCU stuff more than I realized. Shang Chi is still there because a marketing manager said to make sure the poster stayed as diverse as possible. There wouldn't be an 'Asian' character in there if they removed him. I agree, Chris! I hate to see franchises killing off our favorite characters on screen! I choose to ignore all these deaths in my 'head canon' and pretend they never happened. The studios are not passing the torch to better, or even equally good, characters in these scenes. The torch is being fumbled into the muck, the flame is going out and then some awful excuse for a new main character is picking it up and wondering what to do with it. The only franchise that was ever really any good at replacing main characters was Doctor Who back in the Classic era, but now New Who just keeps going from bad to worse with each new Doctor. The new 'Wicked' show represents everything wrong with Hollywood today. I am insulted by even the commercials and company tie-ins for it. The original play and the original novel of it are fantastic to be sure, but this new thing is horrid. 'The Acolyte' is an overt example, but this new thing is subversively so which is actually even worse. They don't do things subtly in movies or TV shows anymore, Beau, because most people today aren't actually paying full attention to the show. They are playing on their smart phone in the living room or theater while the show is on. Even when they go to live events that they paid a lot of money for a ticket to be there. I've seen people sitting in the really expensive seats at NFL games for example staring at their phones even when their team is on the verge of scoring a touch down. The arena has to show the best plays again on huge screens for those who missed it in real time. It's just unbelievable. Exactly! I think the 'You can't really sell it if you don't believe in it or love it' part is pretty much the crux of the situation that Hollywood is in when it comes to trying to make movies or TV shows appeal to sane men. Hollywood has been catering to women and crazy men for long enough now that they have forgotten how to appeal to the rest of us. Even when show runners today aren't actively trying to insult sane men, they still don't believe in or love the sorts of things that sane men love. It's really gotten bad when companies like Jaguar and Budweiser and Gillette can't remember how to appeal to sane men either. Those are brands that were historically very popular among manly men, but now they aren't. It's really weird. Dune is a wonderful thing - in the novels. So good. The attempts to dramatize it have never been 100% awesome. Each attempt has had something good in it. I can think of reasons to defend the previous dramatizations, but I can't think of a reason to watch Dune Prophesy. I really like Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and their books. I'm about 90% satisfied with the two movies that they advised on (some bad casting decisions and some scenes that were longer than they needed to be), but this 'witches in space' thing is not appealing to me. The best things that Brian and Kevin wrote about were the Butlerian Jihad and the Mentats. Those stories are fantastic! We don't get much about that in the two movies made so far nor, it seems, will we get much about it in this TV show. That's too bad. I agree that a TV show about the Butlerian Jihad could have been epic and certainly would have been well-timed given all the stuff going on in the real world today over A.I. In Frank Herbert's time, computers were just starting to become important aspects of everyday life and he could see back then that relying upon computers could potentially be a disaster for humanity as a whole. He was right, by the way, it has been ruinous. Too bad that the current Dune projects aren't focusing on that better. I hate it when shows are disappointing, especially when you know the show cost a ton of money, but is still disappointing. I don't mind when a low budget show is somewhat disappointing because at least vast amounts of money weren't wasted. Open Bar is a better use of two hours of my time than watching crap like Gladiator 2 or Wicked or Dune Prophesy. I love this channel!

Yup. G2 has now about 220 mln and Wicked 165 mln - total.
@Alex_FaheyАй бұрын
That's kind of what I expected. Gladiator to do well simply off of name alone and especially thrive in foreign markets unless it was the worst movie ever made. Wicked, as a weird ghey musical, to only have a chance of doing well in NA/EU markets and struggling elsewhere.
@russvb6384Ай бұрын
Don't know that this notion will age well given that Gladdy 2 has an extra week of international coin in the early numbers matchup. G probably finishes higher outside North America, but domestic+international, doubtful.

As much as i disagree with Rags on pretty much all his takes i still think he'd be a better person to drink a beer with and have a good chat than 70% of the efap/FNT/drinker/btu/BBC crew. But yeah his character's a bitch.

I bought a 30 some inch ultrawide for a first monitor when i built my pc for like $200 that was awesome. Then a few months later i bought my 59 inch lcd ultrawide and i use the old one for discord and audio, and sometimes web browsers if im gaming. And same thing as drinker said, i can have three full size tabs on the lower monitor without being crowded. I fully encourage the multi monitor setup for anyone on the fence.
