31:05 That's a good topic to expand on, the true events or inspired by or any of those historical vs entertainment licenses. I believe, the Woman King's issue was a subset of twitter boycotts from reportedly black populations for the history variances. It was a complete reversal of history from what was depicted concerning slavery and colonialism. To me it still shows a point of view such as depictions of what you can see from topics of aggressive crime waves of the 1970s and Dirty Harry, or general war movies depicting good guys and bad guys of Vietnam or World War II, and even Birth of a Nation in 1915. All cultural references of their own contemporary times. Even showing false histories tells you something about when those movies were made and why they were depicted in that way. Look at Gladiator and it's entertaining feature left historical accuracy criticism aside.

@@chasehedges6775 I agree. Even the wrong history displayed can be telling of the times in which it was created. It was heavily stylized and very entertaining. I hope also it inspires some to look up the historical references just as added benefit. I think criticism is warranted from a historical perspective, but also to sit back and enjoy the spectacle that is was. It is interesting that one can also appreciate the comic and artistry from where 300 also drew inspiration. I love when art turns and incorporates so many other facets from other art.

So much trash has been trotted out in recent years. BUT, the tiny optimistic part of me, buried deep beneath my blackened soul, hopes that this will eventually lead to a creative renaissance where up and coming artists will be inspired to create new, original content and quality-starved audiences might actually appreciate fresh ideas and concepts... Talking about predictions and trailers not matching the actual movie. The empty man. Really good movie kind of strange and not a teen slasher like the trailers make it up to be. It was the last movie Fox made before they were bought by Disney, so they gave the director a blank check and zero studio oversight and let him make whatever movie he wanted. If you haven't seen it I highly suggest it, it's cosmic horror so it's not for everybody but it's interesting to see a movie with zero studio oversight and what a director completely wanted

When will Hollywood learn that stories and story telling are a deeply ingrained form of communication, for our entire species? Maybe not everybody picks up the logical inconsistencies and bad writing, and tolerance for them is a spectrum, but everybody recognizes a genuinely good story (except for marketing execs, they never have or will be living, breathing human beings... case in point Pinocchio)

I was 15 when Star Wars came out and saw it 12-15 times that summer. I remember going with my friends and watching it and leaving the theater and looking at each other and saying, lets see it again. So back inside we went. There was just nothing else like it at that time and it was awesome. I don't get too upset over the prequels and sequels, they are what they are. I'd rather have seen something more and different in the sequels, but can only hope the next trilogy is done way better. Andor is a surprise, much like Mandalorian. Better than I expected. So maybe there is hope for another trilogy/sequel series if done with the right director and writers. Maybe they'll learn from what has worked and hasn't worked (but that may be hoping for too much).

Problem with Woman King is pretending it's hystorically accurate when its not, which to a lesser degree was a problem with Braveheart, but not quite. Braveheart keeps the essence of the story while changing much of the key events, but it's still a story of scots fighting for independence against the Brtis, which is the actual story. Woman King's real story is the Dahomey went to war against the French, twice, because they wanted to keep slaves and slavery as europeans were abolishing slavery worldwide in their domains, while in the movie it's shown as if it's European oppression over Africa. They paint themselves as historical, with no obvious lie as in Fargo, or without being clear about being parody as Inglorious Bastards. Also that last one was never marketed as being accurate, Woman King was.

With the Disney+ shows, I don’t think Feige is directly involved after Hawkeye. For WandaVision, Falcon, Loki & Hawkeye, Feige was directly overseeing them so they managed to maintain a certain level of quality to an extent. After that, Feige’s focus has been on planning the further phases & he’s given free reign to the Disney+ showrunners hence why we’ve ended up with so much nonsense.
