Thanks for reacting to my song suggestion. You're always as entertaining as the singers.

This song is so moving, and these two did it justice. Thanks for your observations, Daniel, you are slowly creating a lot of sophisticated listeners.

I think I know a quality performance when I see and hear one !What makes a good music performance: the dicipline, the hours of practice, the physical make up the vocal cords and the brath control. All this but above all the singers musicality and passion.Dan and Rhen Stillnight attain the expression to the highst level ! Thank you for your great reaction ! 😊

I thoroughly love your reactions to Dan's music, your sense of detail. I reckon you must be a great classic teacher. The jaw and/or throat vibrato are techniques used by some of the best rock and jazzsingers - it's not really created from tension, but from kind of using the muscles rhythmically, which actually demands a very relaxed jaw and throat, in order to be able to create a steady rhythm - if you have tension, it becomes a struggle and the rhythm and quality of tone will suffer. I compare it to the vibrato stringmusicians and guitarists creates by moving/shakìng the fingers rhythmically on the neck of the instrument. But i do understand and like your beautiful description of the classical supported diaphragm vibrato.

Rehn is from Northern Italy and Dan from Brazil, their voices compliment each other and I enjoy listening to them perform this piece, it is a cover after all and not an exact copy, so little changes here and there make it their own. Thank you for a good reaction.

Just love watching your reactions to Dan. He never fails to impress me and your reactions always make me smile. I would love to see you react to another singer who never disappoints me - our wonderful Australian royalty of music (and a humble person with a beautiful soul) - John Farnham. ALWAYS listen to him live! His rendition of Help by the Beatles, sung with the Melbourne symphony orchestra is brilliant! There are so many wonderful performances of John but Help is a great introduction to the rabbit hole of John.

Rehn is a matal singer and vocal coach from Northern Italy, Dan is in Brazil. This makes the harmonies all the more remarkable. It is possible that Rehn was doing her best to emulate Sarah Brightman, who is an opera type West Ender from the UK, which may be a possible explaination for her techique. I'm also speculating that there may be slight dialectical differences in various regions of Italy.
@shirleyemrick1700Ай бұрын
I agree with you. I’m Italian and there are many different dialects depending on what part of Italy you are from. Dan doesn’t even speak Italian and yet he sings it perfectly.

Hey Daniel always love your reactions I've just come across this band called Red Clay Strays They are from Mississippi and have been around for some time Well currently they are burning it up!! They write most of their songs and the lead singer has a unique voice, to say the least Maybe check out their song "Wondering Why "

Its a beautiful redition, don't really care about what you think is wrong with her interpretation. Its beautiful nonetheless. I usually love watching you react but this time not so much
@goodeveningstoriesАй бұрын
Unfortunately, my reaction videos will not be all praise. I go into each video with an open mind and heart but can't stray away from my own preferences and biases. Whilst I can enjoy elements, I still will give praise or criticism when deemed appropriate, and there were more moments where I could offer criticism this time round. I still offer praise in the several elements I enjoyed, but I'll stay true to myself and give my honest thoughts. That doesn't mean you shouldn't like the piece any less, though. I'm just one professional with his own opinion and stance on music. If a piece moves you and doesn't move me, that's okay, I'm sincerely glad you found more beauty in the piece than I did =)

I really enjoy your take I always try and watch what you have to say and it's totally o.k. we disagree. The world would be a boring place if everybody was the same. I like your reactions or I wouldn't watch you . Btw love your voice, would love to hear more of it.😊

Dipthongs... Yeah, and then there's Dan's native Portuguese, dipthongs all over the place! 😜😜 Even song, canção, finishes with one.
@meb8582Ай бұрын
Have you ever thought that the singers are doing THEIR version and not a carbon copy of the original? It would be so boring if everyone sounded the same and sang the notes exactly as you would prefer! Having been a fan of Dan's and his various occasional singing partners for quite a while, I think I would know what I like and frankly, sometimes your criticisms are way over the top over something so miniscule. Such a big deal is made out of nothing which is rather irritating and just messes up a beautiful performance!
@goodeveningstoriesАй бұрын
I agree with you, I don't like when artists sound the same and enjoy various musical interpretations. There are certain elements of music that are important to me when I listen to pieces, and I will comment on those things. I, like most, if not all, people, listen to music with my own preferences and biases. However, I think I do a decent job still committing to what I always have, which is offering praise and critique when deemed appropriate. I'm not attacking what you should or shouldn't like and have never implicated such. All these videos are me offering a professional's perspective. I can absolutely dislike a piece in its entirety (which is not this piece) and still recognize that some people love it, and that's great! I don't need to like something for that piece to still sound beautiful or create a lasting impact on others. I'm just one guy with an opinion and years of musical education and experience. Obviously, my word isn't law lol
@raskalkat9092Ай бұрын
Other musicians, in particular, will always find something miniscule that they will comment on. It's their training & experience that comes into play. And then their own preferences/biases on top. It's an unfortunate occupational hazard. ❤️🤘✝️🌹🦉

I personally enjoy Daniel's reactions, as he explains how the singers are interpreting the music. He also breaks down their vocal techniques (which he may not agree with their technique) and it makes me appreciate and comprehend the vocalists talents. His perspective as an opera singer is interesting and he makes vocal concepts simple, at least for me as I've never taken music theory.
