Funny thing is that I remember first seeing these back when I first played Digimon World 1 but it wasn't until later when I learned that there was a whole world of Digimon Virtual Pets. Even though I was a big Digimon fanatic who would love reading into the lore and backstory of it it wasn't until recently with the Digital Monster ver 20th where I started to collect virtual pets. Honestly I gotta say that I really admire the whole concept of raising monsters (especially your favorite ones) and having friends to battle with. Thankfully because the virtual pet community has lately been growing they've created a method to connect the virtual pets to the internet using varying devices like an A-Com/D-Com.

Hey ! I was born in 1998 and I got my first tamagotchi when I was seven or eight years old, however I've never heard about the whole story / the digimon tamagotchi. While growing, I discovered digimon quite early because it was broadcasted on some tv channels in France so yeah, I would have really like to get one of these at this time ahah.

@@TheNerdLair Tbh the French dub sucked. There was a lot of censured things, especially related to Devilmon Castles, so some years ago I watched it again but in original with subtitles and... It was so much better. To be honest, Digimon is better than Pokemon for me. The plot is way more interesting and there is some hard stuffs like deaths of characters and stuff like that. However, I have not checked the last few seasons... Have you tried it?

I had the red see through with black buttons. I love there's actually a cheat book that teaches u how to evolve into other digimon. If u take care and do the necessary stuff u will always be stuck getting agumon and just turning into greymon , however if u collect certain amount of shit and don't turn off the light and what not it can evolve into a different kind. There's also a cheat where by u pull the tab in and out repeatedly and change the time u will get a random digimon so u can skip the process from egg straight getting an ultimate. Good times indeed😭💯

I'm pretty sure they did get their names before the anime seeing as there was the Digital Monster Ver. S which was the v-pet but on the Sega Saturn, Digimon World as well as the mangas, both the oneshot C'mon DIgimon and Digimon Adventure V-Tamer. Ironically despite many thinking it started as an anime, that's one of the later mediums it expanded to.

Digimon started with the Tamagotchi in 1996, then there were the Ver. S game and the Mangas in 1997, then Digimon World 1 at the start of 1999. After that they made an anime about it and forgot what made Digimon special for it. People should really get informed about Digimon before saying "Digimon started as an anime." It pisses me off.

For sure! The Digimon Tamagotchi toys didn't sell even close to the number of the original Tamagotchi which is why they are so expensive. They did put out a 20th anniversary model of the Digimon Tamagotchi which go for around $30

Has a Tamagotchi as a kid i probably should of read the manual, since it tells you how to pause it which is useful when your don't feel like playing with it or are busy. Mine would die because of that. Kind of hated it because of not knowing that since there would be times where i did not want to play it. Yeah but these should of really have an off switch that pauses your progress other wise you just end up wasting battery's when your not using it unless you take the battery's out.

Yeah, I remember these things. I was like, 5. I kept taking care of it everyday, making sure to clean up after it, feed it, give it vitamins, train. Everything. Next thing I know, my rookie was Agumon, champion was Greymon and Ultimate was Metal Greymon. I kept winning battles with him, never understood why nobody else had Metal Greymon when I was a kid.
