Man it took me hours to figure out that when mapping my joystick buttons, the filter is on "assigned" by default and that's why I could only find the simulator events that were assigned to buttons already. I thought the default mappings are the only option for a while. But after my own mappings it is so much better. But I still don't understand how you can use both keyboard and joystick at the same time... It's really confusing and wish there were more tips and not just assuming everyone magically knows where everything is.

@BlarryOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@RCmies I'm using a Saitek X-52 which has a metric crapload of buttons, and still couldn't do without mouse and keyboard. Fine-tuning viewing angles works best with the right mouse button for those of us without a TrackIR setup, as the default camera movement using the buttons on the stick is waaay to sensitive, in my view. What I've done is place the keyboard between throttle and stick, and the mouse in front of the keyboard. So to take a quick look around, I only need to take my hand off the throttle for a while. Using the mouse with the "wrong" hand works just as fine for the limited amount of movement and precision required, this isn't brain surgery. However, I've ordered one of those Thrustmaster TCA Airbus throttle/stick packs where you can modify the stick to be left- or right-handed. And as I'm a left-handed writer/right-handed mouse user myself, I'll be finally able to fly with my strong hand, while still using the throttle and mouse with my right hand, so this is going to pan out brilliantly.

@dwayneetchison59354 жыл бұрын
Just as a help... on climbout, set a climb speed (CJ4 is probably 200 if that) (its never 250) but whatever the most efficient climb speed is, and maintain it via VS, with a constant power setting, it will be less all over the place, and also be way easier, as it is the way it is actually handled in aircraft that arent fully managed.

Every take off I have done in the CJ4 has looked exactly like yours did in this video. Set the autopilot up on the ground, lift off, arm autopilot, release yoke, go into 15 degree dive at 2000 feet, overspeed aircraft, panic, disengage autopilot, manually fly to cruise altitude, re-engage autopilot, and then everything is good from there. I've tried it in VS mode and FLC mode but it doesn't seem to make a difference because the aircraft always dives no matter how I have the autopilot configured. Both modes work fine to change altitude once I am cruising but never work on climb out after take off. I'm not for sure if this is the intended behavior of the CJ4 and we are just doing something wrong or if it is not working properly in the sim but I no longer trust it and will be hand flying all of my climb outs in this aircraft until further notice.
