When you cut your dog's toenails, run your hand down their legs like you would a horse and gently lift their paw backwards. This allows you to see the quick on the nail and not hurt them along with being a more natural position that the dogs paw is in. They tend to not like it when you try to cut the nails while bending their toes upward instead of backwards like how you access a horse hoof. You should also desensitize the dog by rubbing and touching their feet and paws while they are comfortable. I'm sure you guys knew that part though. Hope that makes sense. I rescue, rehab, train, foster and adopt packs of German Shepherds for the last 14yrs and I've picked up some tricks along the way. Just thought I'd try to help 🙂
@user-rr5on2hj4y2 жыл бұрын
Commenting to second this. My 8 year old pittie was terrified of getting her nails clipped for about 7 out of 8 years of her life. Ever since I’ve been doing this trick, she lets me get all of them. I switch between paws to give her balance relief but it really doesn’t take long. She’s no longer fearful and always looks forward to a treat afterward.🐾

For Link: At high speeds (especially when turning) or on slippery surfaces, these dewclaws provide extra traction and help stabilize the carpal (wrist) joint. Some dogs also use their dewclaws to help them climb trees, hold objects to better chew on them, or climb out of the water if they've broken through ice
@ArelyGonzalez6262 жыл бұрын
Social anxiety is very real. In large groups I can be a flower wall and just chill in the background. And I'm super comfortable around my friends and close family, but in family reunions where I don't really relate to a lot of my distant family members, I feel so awkward and just want to crawl in a hole.its medium social circles that make me feel super uncomfortable because they're aren't big enough to blend in the background but not small enough where I can be fully comfortable and show my silly side.

I feel like Rhett tends to psychoanalyze himself a lot. It can be good to extrapolate on different ideas you have around why you think the way that you do. But I’ve noticed that he seems , to me , to over analyze normal things. It’s ok to find little girls scary, that doesn’t necessarily have a misogynistic undertone to it. I just hope that Rhett knows that it’s ok to be him and feel whatever way he may feel without it needing to be viewed as a flaw ❤
