When I first heard this as an investigator back in 2002, it made perfect sense to me. I felt loved, I felt the comforter confirm the truth of it and understood that we are not alone in our struggles, Heavenly Father perfectly understands us, and will teach us vital lessons throughout our lives that will bless us through eternity if we look to Him. The Gospel is true and a great blessing to me.

@Zoot Rollo To visit the services does enrich your soul, with essentiel knowledge that you otherwise will miss or misunderstand. If you go to a service in a CJC of LDS you'll receive at each service the sacrament which is so important for your own development, your protection and also to receive the Holy Spirit his guidance. You'll become so much stronger by visiting the Sunday services, as you'll be much more vulnerable for the influence of God's opponent when not visiting and receiving. Of course, no one will force you, but realise what you surely will miss !

The reason the church sends missionaries to teach these principles is so that everyone have the opportunity to learn. You will feel a fire igniting in your heart that will tell you that you lived before this life. Your spirit will remember and will start to recognize people you met before coming to this earth. You will realize that you've known your loved ones even before coming here. That knowledge will motivate you to be better. I bear my testimony it's been true for me and so will be for you.

If you take the time to ponder this concept, then ask God with a sincere heart if this is true, He will reveal to you that it is true. When I first listened to the missionaries introduce this concept of life to me 39 years ago, my mind opened and I immediately knew that they were speaking God's truth! It put all of the puzzle pieces of life together for me and I now feel more connected to my sweet mother who had died 12 years earlier. She had been waiting for me to know, what she knows now.

I will add that with these bodies we learn about opposition. I am grateful for the amount of opposition in my life, because only through trials, I have been able to become stronger, know myself better, and develop attributes that will allow me to return to my Heavenly Father. Life is not easy and it was not meant to be. Only through the obstacles we will grow to our full potential. If you don't lift enough weight, your muscle probably will never grow, and boy, how it hurts!

I love this video! I remember sharing this every day on the streets when I was a full time missionary for the Church in England. I just love how they explain the plan that God has prepared for us in a few minutes, it's kind of like if Heavenly Father was trying to say "Hey, I know life is hard and it may feel like it's so complicated and there is no way out, but it's simple, I have given you the nswers in my Gospel but I need you to look for those answers" I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ has what we need though sometimes it's not what want to hear and we procrastinate making those good chioces and chaging our life. But I say it again, I know that God really wants everybody to know this and be happy.

Hi, I have been asked this question many times by struggling members and investigators. all i can say in the space allotted is this; all people are free to make their own choices sometimes those choices bring pain to those around them, but if all you knew was happiness would you appreciate it? what we are to learn is; choose good circumstances, associations and mindsets, follow the gospel closely and even when hardships arise you will feel support and love from God and you will be happy.

I live to love, experience as much as I can, and share my talents and ideas with as many as possible. And I do all of this without a God. Being a good person is something all of us are born with, we just have to tap into it, whether that be through God or whatever you choose, the only important part is you find a way to accomplish it.

That's an important point, Cory. "Resurrection" as in "Jesus was the first to be resurrected" (and as many religions define it) is a state wherein the person returned to life will never die again. On the other hand, Lazarus, Jairus' daughter, the widow of Nain's son and other individuals miraculously returned to life by Christ would eventually again sicken or age and die. Jesus as a resurrected being, like you said, fully perfected his Godliness--and would never die again. Beautiful :)

The Church calls it a "veil of forgetfulness". We are sent here to be tested. How will we live? What kind of people will we become? What values will we hold to when we learn right and wrong? This is why it's called faith. If we remembered our time in the pre-existence then it would be knowledge, no need for faith.

No matter how much He knows us, it is important that, through agency, as you said, we prove Him we will do all the things He commands to us... like Abraham did. It was not an easy task to sacrifice his own son, and yet, Abraham proved God he would do His will. In His immense wisdom and to fulfill the requirements of justice, God allows us to exercise our agency freely. We choose to follow him or to don't, but ultimately it is us the ones who decide.

A lot of religions believe that there is a difference between angels and us, and that angels were with God before we came to earth. We believe that we were those spirits in the spirit-world who were with God, our creator. The reason we are here on earth was because we chose to follow the Savior's beautiful plan. I testify to you that this church is true and living. You can learn for yourself like I did, by reading the book of Mormon and asking God if it is true with real intent & faith in Him.

(Old Testament | Jeremiah 1:5) Anther one that testifies of the pre moral life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (New Testament | John 3:17) 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. (New Testament | John 17:17 - 18) I know we are all children of God the most high. We have been promised all the glory he has...Pretty amazing promise when you stop and think.

What constitutes a good choice? Is it something that can provide sustained (which implies stability and health) happiness without harming others?

Wow! I questioned life and it's meaning, but thanks to this video I understand it all. Such a clear explanation. I completely believe everything he said and it totally did not sound like some children's book for children who are a bit behind. I am a mormon now!

In answer to klschade: Moses and Elijah were translated. Here's one explanation of the term translated: (See several posts that follow this.) "President Joseph Fielding Smith taught, 'It is a very reasonable thought to believe that both Moses and Alma, like Elijah and John [the Revelator], were translated to accomplish some work which the Lord had in store for them at some future day” (Answers to Gospel Questions, 5:38).

It is interesting that the questions are about evidence in the Book of Mormon. The respondents have answered well & we can find supporting evidence in the Bible as well. Eccl 12:7 (operative word "return" suggests where we come from) & Jer1:5; 2Cor6:2 & Phil2:12 (Needless to mention why we are here).

For someone who really wanted to understand, a good place to start would be 2 Nephi 2, followed by Alma 40-41.

"Sin is doing something we know is wrong." What about people who have a misconception about what is right and wrong? If I am born into an "evil" family and I am taught a different set of morals does that mean sin becomes a different definition for me and God judges me differently? What if I am taught I must feel guilt all the time because not doing so is a "Sin" and I learn to hate myself rather than loving myself? Perhaps sin is anything that moves us away from being more like God.
