Mark and Sue .. I found a superior product to RainX called AquaPel, formerly made by PPG who sold it to another. It costs a bit more but works longer without the degree of hazing during a wipe RainX does, despite meticulous glass prep. You have to buy it from an on line source (would like to find it over the counter). My last purchase I split with a friend. The applicator is a non-woven material with a crushable glass tube inside. A cautionary note - follow the instructions, not too different from RainX, but the last batch we bought seemed to have been short filled. One applicator should do a standard size windshield and two side glasses. LOVE you stuff! I come from an engineering department for instrumentation as an electronics tech, though lost that career long ago.

I took a look at that stuff, and I love the applicator. It does look easy to use! I will try to remember to give it a try when my rainex supply is gone!

Great information. I’m gonna look in my wheel wheels of my 15 London Aire. I’ll most likely go ahead and seal it all up just for preventative measures. We recently purchased our RV and we haven’t driven in much rain. Better safe than sorry. $40.00 in sealant is much cheaper than water damage. Thanks again. 😎👍

Try to make a mental note to look for the water ANYWHERE after a 2 or three hour rain drive. I used approximately (2) cans on the drives side and (4) cans on the passenger side. Look around at some of the "other" rusty steel support members supporting the floor and adjust your can count accordingly!

So Mark, I have watched many of the TV commercials for the Flex Seal product. And I believe if you were to use 1 more can of the spray product, you will be able to drive the MH into Lake Michigan and turn it into a floating multi purpose RV. Those duckbill drain tubes will be a godsend keeping you afloat.

That was funny Larry. I actually used (2) more cans than I talked about in the video. After I shot that scene, I was going to caulk the horizontal joint to finish it off. After I brought the caulk home, I couldn't get the gun into position! So I goobered (2) more cans into the crack seam!

We are on board with you about never, ever driving in the snow. 👍🏼We had a similar issue in the compartments of our first rig. Fred had to replace the duck bills and plug the leaks. So far it appears that we do not have that issue in our Monaco. Small prayer sent up that we do not in the future. Hope the fix works for you guys. Good idea about the stop for the mission. We have had to abort a mission before it was accomplished due to lack of parking. Have a great week. Mary 💕Fred

My wife and I have spent 3 days in our 2010 Tiffin Allegro Bus 43' motorhome. We have been staying at Thousand Trails in Arely, Alabama. I have some more issues to finish up with before I can leave on our quest to see America. Seems I have found out that I have a bent leveling Jack I have also found out that this leveling jack has a 1 year back log in shipping. Just can't understand why I year is it made in China ? besides that we love the motorhome its just like having your house on wheels or somewhat close to it. Really enjoyed video thanks for sharing !

Those rubber duck bills can weld themselves shut over time so I use a Q tip with any rubber friendly lubricant, pinch the end open and give them a skungele in order to keep them flowing freely. Once per year is sufficient (Skungelee ~ a swipe and in & out motion to insure just a thin layer of coveragethat won't impede water flow). When I purchased my used RV with low miles that sat a lot, all the A/C duck bills were stuck shut and the water from one unit actually backed up to the roofline and puked in through the ceiling vents. That was my educational experience that drew me to this conclusion😉

My thoughts on windshield wiper blades is to Teflon wax the windshield 3 or 4 times. The wipers have no resistance across the waxed glass and even in heavy downpours my wipers are on delay wipe most of the time due to the water beading and flying off the waxed windshield. Yes, everyone is going to say “Use Rain-X” but the Teflon wax lasts much longer. Safe travels!

What kind of quality control do these inept manufacturers have anyway regarding testing this damn RV’s in real world situations or do these engineers just drive them in the ac controlled showrooms after they are finished ? lol WTF . Don’t seal the wheel wells after finishing the chassis & trickier to make them airtight & waterproof ? Plus don’t test the windshield wipers for efficiency? ? If that can’t have quality control on those things what do you think 🤔 will happen on ALL the other mechanical components that are involved with an RV on wheels . Brutal . This is why the RV industry is like Congress, no true oversight whatsoever & accountability. Pass the BUCK from manufacturers to dealerships to consumers who suffer financial from piss poor products . No Organization oversight as long as these manufacturers keep paying their dues . Get an Independent 3rd party inspection 🧐 before you buy & don’t trust the PDI’s from dealerships whatsoever. They are a rip off. Hire Blue OX Inspectors. Thx for the great video & advice & safe travels wherever they may take you two . Love your channel. 👍⚾️
