In India taking care of aged parents is an ingrained culture. The ones who don't or the practice of old age homes is looked down upon. Piku was a top notch take on that
@whitewalker6085 жыл бұрын
True. In India no matter how much you earn, you living with your parents isn't looked down upon. It's a personal choice out of love and support. People might earn Lakhs of Rupees a month but we still chose to live with our parents to support and enjoy with them till their old age in contrast to the US where they expect you to move out. Money doesn't bring you happiness. Warmth, love from your parents and relationships do. They did a lot for us when we were small, we should too when they need us in this old age. They never hired a nurse for us! Man I love India for so many reasons. The warmth, the high school education (the sciences, math, history, geography etc are much much better than the states believe me), the food, the geographical regions, the culture (dances, attire, languages). It has it's faults but we'll develop out of it.

Most of the supporting cast - especially Piku's relatives and the Kolkata household were established actors of the Bengali film industry. And this kind of understated , natural acting is very common in Bengali films. Please watch 'Memories in March' and 'The Namesake' , two of my all time favourite movies.
@sunbong_rulez5 жыл бұрын
WRONG INFO ALERT. Shoojit Sarkar didn't direct Pink. He presented it (not certain what that means, but that's what it says on the title card). The director of Pink is Aniruddha Roy Choudhury. Must give credit where it's due.
@sunbong_rulez5 жыл бұрын
@@sukhpreetsethi9939 I don't think that is the right way to put it. Shoojit Sarkar is a well known face in Hindi Film Industry unlike Aniruddha Roy Choudhury and hence his name and fame were used for publicity. He is one of the writers and one of the producers of the film. But saying that he ghost directed the movie is in a way discrediting Aniruddha Roy Choudhury's contribution. Mr. Roy Choudhury is a capable director in his own right with his films winning multiple National Awards. He is well known in Bengal for his talent and capabilities and doesn't need hand holding as far as the craft is concerned. One more thing, Pink was initially planned to be a Bengali film and fyi Bengali cinema has been tackling such diverse subjects for a long time now.
