Steam is a very effective way of cooking crab. I am from New Orleans. We boil in water, but there is more to it. You have to make the stock to boil the crab in. A lot of spices and vegetables go int othe stock to boil and season the stock. Then we boil crab for a few minutes, but let them soak for about 20. That is where the spice is. But do what you want .. They look great.

Taku I don't know if you knew this but when the camera cuts to you in the boat you can see that peninsula behind you. I don't want to spoil this spot because I know exactly where its at, but if you look to the right of the big dome you can see a dip in the hill, that hill is actually the San Andreas fault line, there's a road that goes right over it up to that facility.

Im from Baltimore, home of crabcakes and blue crabs. Big thing out here is to get a couple dozen crabs and eat em in the summer, on a deck, with friends and family. I always pick through 5 or so crabs, bunch up all the meat, and make a crabcake out of it. Ive never been a huge fan of eat, pick, eat, pick, etc

3/4 cup Sho Chiku Bai sweet rice, 1 1/2 cup Kokuho Rose white rice, my favorite rice, sweet yet savory flavor mix. I mix them well to have the two types evenly distributed. No toppings, done curry pouched halibut, beef stew, etc but mostly just the rice by itself for its own flavor. Try it!
