I did not have outpatient surgery, but close. It was called fast track. They did a total knee replacement on Thursday morning with some clever spine and nerve anesthesia. I was up that afternoon and helped to walk down the hospital corridor. I went home the next day on Friday with exercise instructions and some pain pills. The goal was not to sit around , but get up fairly often and move around. It is now almost 4 weeks. I have a good range of motion, I can walk well, and I am very pleased. By the way, I am 81 years old. The surgery was done at Metropolitan General in Athens, Greece.

I'm extremely fortunate and grateful to have been a good candidate to have outpatient surgery at Rebound here in Vancouver, Washington. I checked in @ 545am, on the operating table at 745am, in the recovery room @ 10am, walking around the hallways @130pm and back in my bed by 5pm. Again, I'm extremely fortunate and grateful to have such a great medical team and wonderful care. ❤

And your risks go up? Yes. There’s just too many things that fall through the cracks
