I don't have the Acari chest piece but I do have to the gloves and I see the potential. I no way close to this build but this is definitely the direction I want to go.I originally had trouble clearing CT5+ but now with 3 piece Acari I can clear CT9. Great video Nick. Any advice for running the build before you get to CT15? I just reached CT13 by the skin of my pants riding the Volcanic rounds build, but I don't have any T3 mods yet so some of your build is out of the question for me right now. I'm curious how you suggest either preparing to run this build (farming expeditions?) or running it when it's not yet fully modded. Any suggestions are appreciated

Funny, I was running almost this identical build while farming gear to run the ash blast version. Was running with ash grasp and Master Consumer and doing 300mil dmg runs. Give that a try with your better gear and see how it goes.

The 2hot mod also scales with AP. That does damage to mobs that burning on skill use. Also melee is considered a skill

I’m loving my pyro. I don’t run this setup but I average around 250-350 mil total damage a run. Highest I’ve gotten so far in a run is 408 million and 258 mil of that was overheat

Getting back into it, running acari gear. Late to seeing this, but I'm surprised you don't have Sunburnt and/or Phoenix Rising to really flex Overheat.

not sure if my friend is running 100% this build, but as a trixy main, i can definitely say, the pyro debuffs make me do a crap-ton more damage. I've seen as high as 57 mil on a bood queen in ct15 and don't even think that was anywhere near what i could do that my build is more or less "complete" pyro debuffs are sick - we had a good group helping each other out, but when the pyro and techno both build mostly for debuffs/support we started absolutely destroying ct15s. We were already golding everything but EOTS, and we finally golded that after several silvers (not too far from 6min) when the pyro went full debuff.

This build is hella good. I'm still trying to roll better boots and gloves because I'm stuck with mods that I don't want on them (they're not terrible one of them is Bullet Kindling that helps with some damage). Any tips on how to increase survivability? I'm trying to avoid using that Golem mod because it is bugged. Though, if I'm being honest, I think the riflemen are supremely unbalanced at higher tiers. They do so much damage and have laser-perfect accuracy - I get downed by them more than altered who wield the primal forces of the universe wielding heavy artillery. Regular captains too. They just drop me so freaking fast that they do it mid casting animation. Maybe it's just assault rifles in general.

I run basically the same build except I prefer middle tree. Maybe it is just me, but even with emergency stance i feel super squishy going bottom tree. I've even been able to out damage a few well geared bottom tree pyros with my build, but only if they don't run overheat. A huge chunk of my damage is burn, and overheat spam ruins that.

Same here, run middle tree with faser beam instead of overheat and look for status damage mod on gloves and feet to buff faser beam. Faser only needs one mod to be useful and that's the radius one

I have death sentence yet still find this build more effective than Ash blast for elites. In groups I rarely get past heatwaves before a techno has blasted everything I debuff. For devestator team I find I contribute more personally. I don't have Double Fun yet (love total RNG /thumbs down)

Chest of the Acari would be nice since to get it you need to get to CT 14 + (Since hunts NPC doesnt drop it) but to get there, you need it, chicken and egg

Nick, I am genuinely confused as to the beneficial difference between running Overheat over Eruption? I’ve been using the Previous Overheat/Ash Blast build & Thermal Bomb/Eruption build I guess I’m just searching for the reasoning behind overheat vs eruption. Why the combination between the two builds?

My guess would be 3 things: 1) two debuffs from heatwave/thermal bomb + AP buff from activating thermal bomb (explosive skill)+Explosive DMG Node combined with ABSURDLY low CD on Overheat from the acari chest piece T3 mod 2) PLUS the AP bonus from the acari set bonus 3) In the amount of time you're waiting for eruption to come off CD you can do 4 (or 3...I think) overheats. and If your CDR is good enough you'll basically always have something to cast (mage 101: ABC - Always Be Casting - or in this case interweaving shots between casts). This build is kinda conditionsal: if you have the acari chest, consider overheat because of the nutty CDR Although now that I'm thinking about it, eruption is good at base BUT needs a few mods dedicated to it to shine, thus taking away your ability to run other beneficial mods needed for this debuffing build to truly shine. I'm a little tired so I apologize if I'm not making sense lol.
