Well, I did end up writing a love letter to my childhood sweetheart about a week ago. Keep in mind that we last saw each other 15 years ago. It was probably the craziest thing I've ever done but it paid off. She wrote back and now we're planning a date. I guess Jeff Bezos' "regret minimization framework" really does work. Seriously. One thing that I learned the hard way, though; apply the perfume before you write on the letter. I did it the other way around and underestimated how powerful the sprayer was. It pretty much ruined the letter for me. So if anyone is reading this, take notes.

I’m 14, writing to a girl I’ve never even met in real life. However, through conversations through text I’ve discovered a passion for her. A good starter fountain pen is a Lamy Safari, dip pens are also inexpensive, that's real old school as you'll need an ink bottle to dip. Hope you give it a try...
