I love you teacher in my hand book The Power of Now The Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment. I am very grateful to have a treasure of information and knowledge from you. I love that you are a mystic, spiritual and teacher. It's a beautiful path that I want to follow. In your footsteps Eckhart and Osho Baba Moji's plan. Rumi, Sadhguru. As someone who has struggled with fear and anxiety in the past, I understand how challenging it can be to overcome these feelings. But I've learned that acknowledging and accepting them is the first step in moving forward. It's important to identify the root causes of your fears and anxieties, and to seek support from loved ones or a professional if needed. Practice mindfulness techniques, exercise, and self-care regularly to help manage these feelings. Remember, fear and anxiety don't have to control your life, and with time and effort, you can overcome them.

I would argue that it's not necessary to identify the root cause. This just adds more thought around the emotion. You don't need to analyze or label your emotions. Just feel them fully without resistance, and with time and practice your brain will learn that it is safe to experience fear and it will arise less and less.

While I find some of Ekchart Tolle's stuff very important, I cannot relate to this specific video. I find I MUST accept the outcome of the fear... So when my heart is racing and I cannot stop dreading something (example: dentist), I find I must accept the situation - and this may take multiple sessions over many days depending on how intense the fear itself is. Ask what the worst outcome is - and accept that.... then the second worst outcome and so on. This is a slow process and tends to release tension in the body then and sporadically on the next day - release that with TRE or jogging.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Eckhart. One of the things that helped me the most was realizing that fear is just the need for control. If you have trust in the universe and the perfection of everything, you are not afraid. Anxiety is the need to control the outcome, of a conversation (not embarrassing yourself for example), of a task (not to fail) or an action. It is always the small version of you, the "ego" and not your true self.

I was giving a virtual training last week and there was a very important person in the virtual room and my stutter became increasingly worse. I could not get out of my head and I stopped, blocked, repeated words and it was the worst experience I had ever felt in a very long while. I went to see my boss and I told her about my "bad day" and she said that a woman came in and asked if she knew that she had a presenter who couldn't talk. Thankfully, my boss reponded to her "have you ever had a bad day?". My boss went on to explain to this woman that I am one of her best trainers and that it was just a bad day. After having heard that, I completely shut down, questioned everything, fear and anxiety completely took over and now I'm in this rabbit hole of can I even do this? I am a person who stutters who has had 20 years of speech therapy; I've championed myself to face my fears head on and during that horrible virtual training, I did not give up, I kept on presenting because I am not a quitter. Now, my confidence is gone, anxiety and fear are now the dominant feelings and I don't know how to proceed.....................Thank you Eckhart Tolle for this video.

And he's you despite your stutter doing public speaking and delivering training, you have no idea how much respect and admiration I have for you. Its like a bike, you can obviously ride a bike extremely well as your bosses words go to prove, get back on the bike ability is permanent and bad days are exactly what they say on the tin, just a bad day. Sometimes if feels like it’s not as simple as what he’s saying, but when we begin to get over an anxious episode you realize that it is that simple. I think the part that’s harder to realize in the moment is the fact that we think the thoughts are “real”. I had a situation where as much as I tried to be present and breathe, every time that thought came in, I believed what it said about me and would try to battle it with another thought. The moment it started to let go of me was when I had a shift and fully realized that all the things the thoughts were saying about me really didn’t exist in the present moment. And from there, every time it would come up, it would trigger me to go inward where I didn’t feel that way about myself. And it eventually became less and less.

@@myvoiceismysword5484 I'm disabled too, almost ended up in a wheelchair but I was lucky I was able to have surgery twice. Got diagnosed with severe scoliosis when I was 12, had to drop out of school, now I'm 22, can't work, government assistance, no friends, abusive family, I know how it feels. Look, I've been crying for 10 years, and it didn't get me any further, and it won't help you out of that situation either. You need the mental strength to get you through this, to come up with solutions, and being depressed doesn't help. I started reading books because I had nothing better to do, books about mindfullness and meditation. I've learned that life isn't about what you have or don't have, what you can and can't do, but just experiencing every inch of it, the good and the bad.. and only when you're able to let life do it's thing, up and down, you'll be able to find a way out of misery. What if we choose not to have an opinion on our minds fearful thoughts and stories? It's really difficult for our minds fearful stories to gain momentum and drag us into an imaginary conversation (worry) if our immediate response is " I don't have an opinion on that" or " let's wait and see" every time it craves our attention and uses fear to get its way. I see it much like a friend who is constantly trying to drag you into a debate about something or other because they are bored or unhappy themselves and desperately want our attention, they constantly come up with questions and suggestions that are designed to get a reaction from us in order get a our attention fixed firmly on them , but they soon get fed up if they we stay calm and only give short calm neutral answers rather than arguing and debating against their negativity, giving them exactly what what they craved all along.

For me, very helpful is also thinking about the worst thing that can happen, facing it and accepting that it may actually happen and so what? It's not the end of the world (unless your fear is of death, but if you believe in afterlife then it's still not the worst). I surrender to the will of the universe. Although lately, I must admit, I gave birth to a child and I love it so much, the fear I feel of something happening to it is overwhelming.

I have been thinking about a thing… Isn’t being aware/conscious/“in the now” the same as trying to distract your self from painful thoughts? Just distractions and suppressions?

To wake up from a nightmare, you must wake up. Then your question does not exist, those painful thoughts are not there if you focus on your senses. "Stop thinking and end your problems."

What's the expression? Something like, one who suffers from the imagining of what MIGHT happen suffers as if it already has. And if the imagined does come to pass, suffers it twice.

Thoughts are like weather conditions. They WILL arise, sometimes good, sometimes bad. You must “dress” accordingly: awareness, acceptance and do away with expectations… Someone said: do the things you fear and then the death of fear is certain.

Thank you Eckhart. Knowing that you have personally faced this head on & that you found your way through it is encouraging. It helps me know that we are creators of our reality to the extent that we believe in something.

It comes on with a lie that I have already experienced every inch of infinity and this life is the end and I failed and all is about to be over. Like the universe itself is about to collapse, it is also like a moment of negative judgement, the fear is so bad I believe I am about to die and not proceed to another life, but to endless darkness within the unkown. Then as suddenly as it comes on, it goes, but it is stressful on my heart and I wish it would stop.

Isn't it better to be identified with the fear. Knowing the fear I become a victim of my voice in the head. Perhaps not knowing it can create greater suffering, thus better chance of been free some day. Just a thought 😌🙏

The 4th Way teaches that identification to and reacting to the external is one of the greatest challenges to us on our spiritual journey.... over identification propels our ordinary mind into it a kind of "thinking" that really is not productive.... this seems to be very similar to what you are teaching us today Eckhart! Thank you so much! 🙏 "Less is more?"
