My mom is 98 and has had heart problems since she was in her 40s. She managed it and lived a great, productive life. So don't let this video scare you, make necessary changes in diet, supplements and minimal meds. I'm 70, and am on zero meds. I replaced the struts on my Corolla this week. Get this; I did it on the ground with basic mechanics tools. I take care of my home and vehicle maintenance. I have land, gardens and chickens, and work hard every day. The most important factor is how you think. If you think you can, or think you can't, you're right. Unhappiness arises when we go against what is.

QUESTION: My recent research on the Mayo Clinic website has shown that diastolic heart failure from a thickening valve can be caused by cardiac myocytes folding on themselves and collecting at the bottom of my left valve. If true, it is not reversible. What I would like to understand is: Why does that happen and can I do anything to stop any further thickening? This is very significant for me today! A recent angiogram was done to see if years of high cholesterol damaged my arteries. A nuclear EKG had shown extreme heart activity during the exercise phase. However, my arteries were pristine! Bad news is my left heart valve is thickened and toughen. After a week of shock at the term "heart failure", I started doing my own research. This is especially because I cannot tolerate statins and have had a heart rate of 38 in my physician's office before. Am wearing a heart monitor for two weeks to see how often HR goes that low and when. Note I am thankful I found Gut Check, though it was to understand diverticulosis, polyps, and extreme bouts of diarrhea, I learned so much more. Thank you for a valuable resource!

Overlooked signs of heart disease include unexplained fatigue, shortness of breath during mild activities, and recurring indigestion. Unusual aches in the jaw, neck, or arms can also signal heart issues. Women may experience nausea, vomiting, or back pain. Swollen feet, ankles, or persistent coughing could indicate heart failure. Regular dizziness or heart palpitations shouldn't be ignored.

a heart attack can include chest pain or discomfort that may feel like pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain in the center of the chest. The pain may spread to the arms, neck, jaw, back, or stomach. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness, and cold sweats. It's important to note that not everyone experiences these symptoms the same way,

Got out in Mayo clinic in Phoenix. 95 percent blockage in another artery. I eat as clean as you can, exercise 4x a week and tennis 4 days a week. I hope Dr G and all the other awesome docs can figure why healthy peoples arteries are closing. We eat right yet still arteries close up. I would love to be a guinea pig for Dr G because Mayo is confused why such a healthy person's arteries are closing so quickly. Best of luck to everyone. Stay healthy.

Wow! What a disappointment!! I was really hoping that you would address the cardiac symptoms associated with low iron and anemia which so many women struggle with. Unfortunately, due to incompetent, male, cardiologists, I had a very invasive, extremely painful cardiac procedure that I thought was going to kill me afterwards for 5 days because of symptoms such as breathing difficulties, blood pressure spikes, chest pains and heart beat irregularities. The cardiac procedure revealed that I had cardiac REGRESSION!! All I needed was supplementation with IRON and Ferritin which eliminated my chest pains, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, restless legs, cramping, headaches, heart palpitations, and tachycardia. WOMEN, beware of cardiologists who use you like experimental rats, 🐀 and DEMAND A COMPLETE IRON PANEL BEFORE ALLOWING THEM TO DO ANY CARDIAC TESTS!!! And don’t cover your face with masks which impairs your breathing and stresses your heart!!

Well it's sad you had to suffer all that, but I am curious as to why you were not taking care of your health by taking a good multi vitamin for women of your age at the very least which would have contained the RDA of iron, and maybe could have prevented or at least reduced your health problems?
@elainec533314 күн бұрын
You needed to properly address the root cause behind the low iron and ferritin via diet, gut health and maybe hormone balance if it’s due to heavy menses. That’s not what a cardiologist is trained to do nor expected to do.

When you do get a heart attack it goes with a real feeling that something serious is wrong.. your body recognises it pretty fast... apart from the pain your breath will probably be laboured and fast, Like when you run, but you are just stuck there... you can never quite catch your breath. @@dominusstyx What’s interesting about (you people) & your alcoholism, is that just a few years before the infamous potato famine, Ireland was the site of a massively successful temperance campaign led by the noted Catholic priest, Theobald Mathew. So successful was this campaign that between 1838 and 1841, their national alcohol consumption was cut in half!!!!

You need to address the root causes of your cardiovascular problems. Malnutrition, processed foods, sedentary lifestyle, toxic mold exposure, pesticides, myriad of other toxic chemicals, poor stress management, etc.

A lot of people will hear a whooshing when lying on thie side on a pillow beacuse the carotid or one of its bifurcations get compressed be the pillow. If you move and it goes away, that is what is happening. It is normal. I,ve had this for years and have had ct scans to rule out a narrowing of the artery. The carotid can be twisted in its upper section.

Some would say: Your father probably had collaterals good enough for two miles, but not more. Treatment would be cardiac rehab with rest or nitro between punctuated exercise to improve collaterals Z

When I was a youth and I would run hard playing sports and get out of breath and chest tightness legs would hurt. Let alone now as an adult who doesn’t exercise as much as I should. If this didn’t happen why would training be necessary to be a world class athlete it’s normal and natural. Now if I was simply taking a walk and felt out of breath and tightness I would get suspicious

so with my so-called 'Silver Plan' from Covered Cal, can I visit my doctor, tell him/her I experience some of the things mentioned (calf tightness when walking, more shortness of breath than years past, etc) and request a A CT coronary angiogram ? Something tells me the answer would be "too soon for that". Yet knowing if there's a problem would potentially save the insurance company tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars if I need heart surgery. Do they *really* want to know, or is all just lip service.
@jamesravАй бұрын
@rtee3680 Covered Cal is great once you *get* sick, the coverage is excellent. I'd like to catch something before it gets to that point. It sounds like a CT coronary angiogram would tell you if you are clean or a ticking time bomb. Yet I wonder what it takes to get one.

So the best test is the CT Coronary Angiogram. Minimally invasive and becoming more affordable.
@gbaykalАй бұрын
Does it also cause sharp pains in the legs when standing (more than walking) in addition to the tightening? When you say a scan to check do you mean an "echo dopler" scan of the veins in the legs or is there another scan type that can show more.

Well if your father was a decent runner and still got the signs then that doesn’t install hope. Exercise didn’t help him!!
@jamesravАй бұрын
might have been worse without the exercise. The confusing part is why he didn't know of his issues till his 70's. They take time to build up. Didn't his son advise him to see a doc once in a while to get his heart examined in *detail*. I'm going to schedule my annual check up and 'request' as strongly as possible a test or tests to tell me what shape my heart is. I have a feeling the answer to my request is going to raise my blood pressure, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Physicians always need to point out the OTHER cause of erectile dysfunction before scaring the bejesus out of men about clogged arteries. Diminishing testosterone and sex drive, normal with aging, will also cause erectile dysfunction.
