Unit Lost - Great British Gaming 3.8 Ana Baptiste main. Need to clarify why alot of supports in lower ranks struggle . Your goal is to keep people alive fill up hp bars . Healing is best used to keep people up MIDFIGHT not fill them up after. Healing people after the fight is over makes you a glorified health pack. They could get a health pack after the fight and the only difference is the support wont get some ult charge. You need to heal people as they take damage not after.

Christopher Davis but didn’t this dude hold his teammates back? I agree that you can’t blame your team if you want to get better, but I think the adage has taken on a misshapen meaning the more it’s been used. Don’t blame your team because you cannot control them and you can only improve your own gameplay to rise through the ranks. That is completely true. But when you enter into a single game, you get someone on Moira who flanks, yells at the team, gets less healing than your roadhog, and feeds for ten minutes, how can you argue that that individual didn’t contribute to a lost game?

I'm not the best support (its my worse role) and I do about 10.5k healing per 10mins on average with Baptiste not amazing I know, but compared to his 2.2k healing after 10mins I don't feel so bad LOL

Nah. I've tried to coach a few bronzes that seemed to REFUSE to heal, but it's not always just trying not to. It's like they are breaking an old habit. I used to do the same bullshit. 🤔 It's an compulsion that has to be trained to go away as a healer. A completely different mindset.

24:19 The guy has 1,617 healing in just under 7 mins!? that's awful on average he's healing only 231hp per minute, that means he's only using 3-4 healing bullets a minute with Baptiste. He likely only picked support to dodge DPS Que times.

He healed like 2000 in total.... in a full game, That's what you get in healing when you play characters like Soldier, Bastion, Roadhog (If not more) when all they do is (mostly) self-healing

Hpmanen roadhog does 300 healing during take a breather, it’s on an 8 second cool down, the average Comp match is 25 minutes long, roadhog dies on average 7 times a game for a total 70 second downtime, add approximately 3 minutes waiting in the spawn room and you get about 21 minutes play time. Of that we can take about 15 seconds per death to get to the fight. Leaving us at around 19 minutes. Obviously you don’t use your abilities as soon as they’re up so we’ll say people use take a breather about every 20 seconds (which is over double it’s cooldown mind so this is a conservative estimate) which would mean people use it 1140/20 times per game (1140 is 19 minutes converted to seconds) or 57 times! Take a breather also doesn’t always heal the full 300, because you might use it when you have 500 health for example, so we’ll say it heals an average of 250 health (because it is most often used when below 300 so the average would be quite high. With all this in mind a roadhog could very easily heal 14,250 in a match! Equaling 570 heals per minute (counting all the out of fight downtime). This guy’s trash.

I'm pretty sure this is a smurfing tactic.... it's REALLY easy on ANY healer (if you can aim obviously, and except mercy really) to artificially get gold damage... you won't have any one doing any significant dps while their dead and you just stay in safe positioning.

But the only healers who can deal damage and actually heal at the same time - Lucio, Brig and zen. But if you're playing any other healer and having medals - you aren't doing your job. @@empiyrr2133 I agree and disagree at the same time. It is true that a Moira can actually heal her teammates all by herself because of the amount of healing output she produce. However, if your teammates are receiving a crap load of damage from the enemy, there is a high chance that she will actually ran out of healing piss and have her orbs on cool down. That is where a secondary healer becomes useful.

I had someone like this guy in one the the last games I played. I was Hog, and the healers were an Ana and a Moira. I had silver healing at just over 3K and our Moira had gold at 14K. The Ana was *that* bad.

I think people just need to realize, this isn't Call of Duty, you need to prioritize what's best for the team. For example, if you're a healer then you need to prioritize healing first and damage second

You know? A tutorial mode for each character would be pretty cool. If someone wanted to get good with Zenyatta and they never used him before, they could do the whole, "Use this move to heal your teammates. Use this to double the damage on the enemy." Then, they could do scenarios where Zen's ult would work and when they wouldn't. Like, have a Reaper bot jump onto a group of teammates and ult, and have the player time their ult to save them, and have another scenario where they have a D. Va bomb or Junkrat ult and the player would try to save them, but can't. Then, have an explanation when another hero would be better suited for a situation like that instead. Buuuuuut, that ends my tl;dr rambling.

This healing is about to give me an aneurysm. I've been maining moira so far (no wonder why I was climbing) and sometimes baptiste, and I usually end up with bronze or silver dmage (gold if I'm hard carrying), but 99/100 times, I've got gold healing. Highest game so far was 23k in 2 rounds. I mean tbf, moira and baptiste can easily out heal every other support because of that insane burst healing. I mean, bap can get his ult by the end of the first fight if you just RMB. But the reason you're in bronze my dude, is because you have zero clue about how to play support. If I had been one of the tanks, or dps... I would have been screaming at you by now. I just cant. I'm actually gonna pop a blood vessel XD The harsh truth, is that you threw the entire game

Yup. As a support main I tend to shotcall for the team, and the other day I suggested our soldier switch to mei or sombra as we were struggling against a doomfist. He said "I have gold elims, I'm not switching" but that is literally not even the point I was trying to make. He seemed to infer that I was saying he was bad or not doing enough damage but we literally just needed to counterpick and he couldn't grasp that. Goddamn medals.

Destin Darksoul dude DPS players tend to be the worst players in OW. They only play dps cause they can’t think above shoot kill. To be fair, there are alot of rando comp games where your team members do hold you back. Nontank player playing tanks without actually tanking (usually with some horrid combo like roadhog/hammond), mediocre onetrick dpsers that refuses to adapt, dps healers who refuses to heal (like this bronze guy) etc. Its just that when you constantly blame your team, its usually your own fault. Especially in bronze were a good support player should be able to climb up fairly quickly.

Hey Stylosa you didn't mention the Baptiste tip, where if you hold down *both* mouse buttons (or console triggers) you can heal & damage at the same time. It's much more effective than manually alternating between healing & damage. Plus it's great for those YOLO Reinhardts that blindly charge into the enemy team lol. 😳

The thing is that I can pretty much get gold heals, gold damage, gold elim, and gold obj elims at the same without even putting as much effort compared to me playing zen. That is just how she is. I think it is to balance her lack of actual utility skills. In exchange for her lack of utility, she can play very aggressively and heal at the same time. She outputs so much healing that you can be a dps Moira and still keep your team alive. I do agree that there are so many Moira mains that focuses too much on damage. Anyway, tldr: it is so easy to get gold elim/damage with Moira while outputting so much healing at the same time. Now if you called an Ana main or a mercy main who focuses on damage then that would have been a better choice. I have had so many mercy who just whips out their pistols and just keep on shooting or an Ana who just focuses on sniping the enemy.
