It's similar to how Ana should not just be a heal bot, but actively seek out opportunities with her nade and sleep when she can get away with it. Actual reddit Lucio play is when you neglect the team aspect and just go for over-the-top frags and an ego playstyle, but any good Lucio should know when to be aggressive and look for such opportunities when they are actually worth chasing. As long as it doesn't undermine the rest of the team, then support players should always strive for max value all the time.

Even best players in the world like frogger or redshell "dpsing" for entertainment, not because they are actually trying to win, no-one is Redditing in owl for a reason 3900 Lucio main btw. A friend of mine is a diamond lucio player (non reddit) and his mechanics are way better than this player. He has the movement of a plat-low diamond, but the aim and gamesense of a silver.

If the other team has a Rein that is getting serious work done I usually will empty a whole hog into them at some point if I can see that the CCs are out of range just to mess with his rhythm of play since a smart, yet daring Rein is the most deadly. Nothing cools off a Rein faster than getting bullied.

Immediately I can tell just by watching a minute of gameplay, where they’re looking, they have zero care as support. Does not look for enemy team’s position, does not look at ally team’s position or more importantly, their health. It’s mental. I have found Lucio super strong alongside their tanks and it never happens here. Platinum seems generous as a rank. I’m trying to better my Lucio play but 10 minutes in, I doubt I’ll learn something here. Huge priority for any support playing with Ana is KEEPING ANA ALIVE, know their HP situation and if they need help, try to help or call that they need help. Their Lucio movement is significantly better than mine.

Sty, I personally would like situational guides even if there isnt a huge demand of them. I'm a high plat/low diamond lucio, This vod literally made me cringe , I get alot of ppl in my games says "if only the lucio would heal and not speed we would of won" (would end up with 10-20k heals and get the heal card xD) I'm the total opposite lucio of this lucio. I need to improve my taking the lead in games. I would Love those types of situational guides so ik more on the higher end ranks spectrum on how to deal with them. Helping my team is how i want to play the game and would love the insight :D

Yo!! me too, some seasons ago I managed to get to low diamond, and today I was 3 games away from getting there, but then I got in a losing streak and dropped to 2800 ;( and I really don't know what I was doing wrong, also I rarely go for the crazy Reddit Lucio stuff and most of the time I stay with my team and heal, I feel like I did the same thing today but I still lost a ton of games ;( Hopefully tomorrow I can reach Diamond again, that would be so cool

Try to play passive, count enemy ults and positioning yourself in a way to avoid them. For example you don't need to stay on high ground a lot, cos you will get headshoted by snipers, but if you will always stay on low ground - you will get shuttered and loose the fight. So just learn to hide or play passively on high ground when you know that some enemy ult might kill you in next 10 seconds

But you can still see, with the flank on attack, where his team was actually with him, he still played poorly. Went in first, didn't assess the situation, didn't know when to disengage, and didn't support his fellow divers - which is why he has dropped so much sr over time.

Why do we kill baby dva? Well, the same reason why so many concepts of overwatch don't work in lower ranks: lack of coordination. Teamfights can easily get extended and get chaotic. When everyone is ignoring baby dva, she can remech very easy. Beside that dva usually dies/demechs first. They engage heads on and as soon as DM runs out she looses her mech. So the time you need to ignore a baby dva in silver is like twice as long as in masters, so she will remech. And they dont wait for dva anyway.

ProRhino Always be in the targets face(literally as close as possible) in a team fight, pressure the tanks to create space for team, come from high ground and press q in middle of enemy team for ez win. Just make sure they don’t have hook.

A general tip is watch for cc that will cancel your ult, as an ana main I sit and wait for edgelord110 to wraith into my face and put him to sleep straight away. They still do that in plat. Feint first to bait sleep, boop, bash or whatever and then ult. Hook, boop, dm ect as well

I dont want to be mean but I played Lucio like this when I first started playing overwatch and I was in silver. I really dont understand how the hell this Lucio was in plat or higher. Literally he didnt care any of his teammates in any point - he just played for himself at all times. I hope this Lucio gets what he deserves: Drops back to silver where he belongs.

Ive did a number of bronze to GM climbs and the answer is he makes space / distracts the team. If he is in the backline and occupys the other team its allowing for his team to take advantage what makes up for the lack of support the team is getting. In lower ranks people will chase you ect so you get more value he likely finds it hard to climb as some players will obviously expect his plays. At the same time players in lower ranks dont really take advantage of speed so it "works" enough so you dont fall to far.

I would LOVE to see some guide videos on how to counter some of the heroes that can be troublesome at low ranks. I'm in bronze and have less than 100hrs in the game (and half of it was back at launch, and the game was very different back then, I was actually silver and kissing gold in Season 1). The heroes that are most troublesome at these ranks are the flankers, divers, and the deeply entrenched (Bastion, Doomfist, Phara, Reaper, Tracer, Winston, Wreckingball). A lot of the Overwatch guides out there are targeted towards players that already have a lot of experience with the game and are aimed at sanding things down to a mirror polish. I love your Bronze/Silver/Gold OverAnalyzed videos because you are actually focused on what we can actually do to make a difference from our current level of play and with our current level of game knowledge. No, very experienced players don't need these types of guides, but a lot of us do. It can also be really tough going up against two of them at a time. In some of them I just really don't know what we can do to get out of the corner we are in. I just finished a game that ended in a draw where we were up against a Bastion entrenched behind double-shield with a Reaper flanking us from the back. As support I know could have gone Zen against a bastion to help focus him down quickly, but that would leave me open to getting farmed by Reaper. I ended up switching to Brig to counter the Reaper, but we still struggled to push the Bastion. I moved him out of his preferred location by dancing around cover, but he just set up further back where I couldn't touch him.

I’m a Reddit Lucio main. It may be a support but sometimes supporting is taking out the enemy supports / widows. (Now keep in mind, I usually jump into backline, see if I can get a quick pick and jump back to my team to help)

With the whole “Rank doesn’t matter” bit...I used to play at diamond level pretty comfortably. I quit playing for a year or so. Come back and started playing again, i went all the way down to silver, and was legit getting pissed cause I couldn’t get wins. I started just playing for fun rather than winning, Found a hero I have legitimate fun playing on Tank/DPS/Support, and now a month or so later I’m up to diamond level again
