5:35 I travel for work a lot and stay long stretches in different hotel rooms. I have the lay-flat toiletry bag and love it, but because I don’t use it as a toiletry bag but rather as a separate, home-away-from-home nightstand container. It contains travel sized duplicates of everything I keep in my nightstand at home (phone charger and cables, nail file, tissues, throat lozenges, ear plugs, etc). Whenever I get to a new hotel room all I have to do is lay this flat on the nightstand, hang up my toiletries in the bathroom and, boom, I feel “moved in”.

Former pharmacy tech here. Please don't decant your prescriptions into these travel containers. The amber bottles help protect the drugs from degrading from light or air exposure, and TSA can and will make you dump these out if they're suspicious for any reason. It has happened to me, and even though I could prove what they were (and that they weren't scheduled drugs), I was made to dispose of it. OTC drugs should be fine, as they can be easily replaced and their efficacy is more negligible.

Lol. I have the airplane tray table cover and used it last week on a trip. Love it. I don’t travel with a laptop, but it held my water bottle and all my accessories great in the pockets. I got some double looks when I used it. 😂 It elevates everything so you don’t have to reach as low as normal with the regular seat back pocket that is obviously disgusting with all kinds of stuff going in.

I used the airplane pocket for over a year, but have since switched to a Tom Bihn Side Kick pouch with two of the Nite Ize S-Biner hooks. It just feels sturdier and more organized, and then I slide only my water bottle into that seat back pocket like L&T suggested. This bag is essentially for my in-flight stuff, then my rental car stuff when I get to my destination (vent mount for phone, power cable, and 12V-to-USB adapter). If I am planning laptop use during the flight, all I pull out is the laptop and my "go bag".

I have a marble-patterned, slightly rubbery-feeling version of the Make-up bag, without a handle. What I personally do like, is that it lays flat on a surface and I can see into the bag and can riffle through it easily. My bag is a mess anyway so to me it doesn’t matter if stuff moves. As it closed upwards things are tight and don’t move once you close it.

9:29 Lol here in Germany we have 230V. And i seem to remember that the US only has 110V. So you need to make sure that your appliances can handle that. I have a small travel hairdryer with a switch to change voltages depending on the country im travelling in. An appliance like that is really handy if you dont want to buy multiple things. 😊

I have taken around 40 flights with that pill organization thing including around 15-20 that were international and I have never had an issue. The best thing I have found with it is that I can carry a ton of over the counter drugs for my first aid kit which can be tricky for overseas travel. Some things like even Pepto-Bismol can be a restricted drug which requires a pharmacist to dispense which is not the thing you want to discover when traveling and the pharmacy is closed.

I used the Airplane Pocket when my wife and I took a trip from the US to London a few weeks ago. On a long trip, I found it very useful. There's another one that just has a rigid flap that tucks into the seatback pocket we also got. From using both on the trip, I think I liked the Airplane Pocket more. It's lighter and took up less room in my bag than the more rigid one. That folding tray is fantastic. I'd use that just for when I hit the drive thru for my wife and I.
@ArcticGator3 ай бұрын
The tray would be great for door dashers/grub hub as well since they can carry multiple drinks and food containers, a neat concept, make it a basket and that would be pretty sweet since sometimes the paper/plastic bags they normally carry stuff in sometimes rip and you lose the food but keep the holes and maybe make a few odd sized ones for two liters and such.

I like the idea some suggested of taking a photo of each pill next to the bottle. If trqveling to Singapore, and maybe other countries, they are very strict about keeping prescribed meds in their original Rx containers.

The pill box having a pick is better than several I tried recently. However, I got a new one for home use and it has buttons you press that flip the lids up. That's much better for people with arthritis or dexterity issues I feel and I strongly suspect there's a travel version from some company. And yes, I'd take the original boxes, the prescriptions, and then fill it when I got in country/past security. It's one thing trying to reduce your luggage down to a single bag, it's quite another putting yourself at risk if you need actual prescriptions just so you can save some space and not check a bag.

I could see the travel pill organizer having additional uses. First, even if you have prescription meds that you need to keep in original bottles, this could be used for day trips in whatever location you are exploring. Second, for ladies who travel with earrings and other jewelry, this could help keep it organized. Third, I could see a use for memory cards, batteries and other little items for cameras and tech gear that otherwise would get lost in random pockets in other bags.

I have had the Turtl pillow for a very long time. It's comfortable, and in a pinch I have even used it at night when the hotel pillows were not to my liking. I hate trying to stuff it in a bag, though. The shape is so annoying-I wish it could flatten out when not in use. I have the pill holder and keep it in my purse day to day. It stays shut nicely. It's very helpful because I get surprise migraines, and I take great joy in being the person on the trip who has the emergency Benadryl or whatever. I just used painter's tape to label each pod. It is not, however, big enough for snacks unless you are the size of a church mouse.

Fun format shifts in this one! I've got those pill cases and, as pill cases, I don't particularly love them. The curved sides mean you can't really fit that many tablets in each section if they're larger than, say, an Advil. I take a couple pills in the morning and a couple in the evening, and this case won't hold that for a week-long trip. I'd rather just get a lower-profile traditional pill case for traveling if I'm going to use it for meds.

The tray table cover looks interesting for low-cost airlines e.g. RyanAir, which don't have any seat pockets at all. I do wonder if cabin crew would ask pax to take it away in take off and landing, as theoretically can hinder emergency evac, or items stored in it can fly around the cabin? A small tote/sling tied around the close tray table can serve the same; But it looks like an elegant solution.

I’d be interested in the iron reviewed officially. I do a LOT of business travel and need my suit to look good. The iron that hotel’s have, more often than not, are rusty/gunky/etc. The number of times I’ve heated up an iron only to have it smell like mold being cooked is stupid. I never trust the hotel iron. The concept of hanging your shirt in the shower sounds find but it really doesn’t get creases out reliably.

I picked up a travel iron at the thrift store from seven zillion years ago. Also dual voltage. Smaller than that one. And like the one in the video, the handle folds down to the side. It has "TI" and then some numbers on it, as a brand. Did Texas Instruments ever make travel irons? If you don't want to get the airplane pockets thing because you are balling on a budget, just bring a plastic grocery sack to line the actual airline pocket with, like a trash bag. Put your belongings inside that sack and take the sack with you at the end of your flight. Your items won't get dirty - the sack is a barrier between your belongings and the yucky - and they will be all gathered and ready to take in a single carrying container at the end of the flight.
