Katie Jobling very nice...maybe of you glazed over the shadows with white and define the petals more by pulling strokes from top of pedals in...or have you ever done an acrylic ...like this ..then paint oils on top...using liquin...the Bob Ross floral brushes work very good for this method....

I just have to say. I did exactly what you said. I did not follow you at all. I looked at the picture and painted accordingly. It turned out beautiful. I’m just frustrated with acrylics. I want to “ graduate “ to oils. I feel like I could spend my time blending and the colors would be more fluid. I would really appreciate a response. Thanks you were a BIG help!
