It depends what conditions you work in and your experience level. For beginners, stick to 2x2 sections. I can work larger panels as I know how to work the polishes and I work in a controlled environment.

But I knew I’d better learn to take care of my new ride, and thanks to Pan , my car looks 10x better than when I got it !
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
A new car is never new until it's properly detailed. - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example. - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat. If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well. I explain all of this in this popular video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jSqqV5Ypp2g8U So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers: Aston Martin Vantage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXzKkmavj7uHp9E Volvo XC60: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqenc3Wbo82MfKM Tesla Model Y: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naDLnKZurbVohLs Porsche 911 Carrera: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJTOmpysl6ukqZY Mercedes AMG GT63S matte black: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4abq5pnob2pjrssi=oGxoCp8PWt7gTncV Audi Q7: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmirdHWJi9OcsK8 BMW M6 Gran Coupe: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp2maqivgL2mbrM BMW M340i: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6W7mX2Elqtje6c Audi RS3: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGWUnnSAm7B3gq8 Golf R: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKOUappqhbx9qc0

If you use the interior ceramic coating on leather seats can or do you still use a leather conditioner??
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
No point in using a leather conditioner on modern leather which has a polyurethane top coat on it, like a clear coat for paint. Conditioners don’t penetrate that top coat. You’d perhaps apply a conditioner when the leather is a bit older and cracked, where the conditioner would penetrate in the hyde and do its job. New cars with leather seats only need a good cleaning and then protection with a leather sealant or coating, to protect against friction damage, dye transfer, UV rays, make cleaning easier, etc See my leather care tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqeue4t9h9OYgMksi=_WFancI5dySExfW2

Is glaco better than a glass ceramic coating?
@PanTheOrganizer9 ай бұрын
Define "better"? Ultra Glaco is a one year glass sealant. The best consumer grade glass coating I have tested. It's stupid simple and quick to apply and inexpensive. If you want more durability in terms of 1-2 years, you'd have to look at more prosumer/pro grade glass coatings like these below: CarPro DQuartz GForce: amzn.to/3x297tc Gtechniq G1: amzn.to/3VqUNoq Gyeon View: amzn.to/3Vqi35L Those cost more, and are more complicated to apply (relatively speaking).

My friend's 2023 Black Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica LP640 was horribly prepped. DA marks everywhere,the hood was wet sanded and hammered with a rotary by someone. It had a few bird dropping etching spots. I spent well over 10+ hours on it with the owner assisting Me back on January 14th this year. We prepped it for PPF which looks awesome on the car. Not how I thought a $300,000+ dollar Car should be delivered to the customer. Funny enough,the interior was perfect. It's sad how some of these cars come through. Excellent work, Pan. Hi Pan i noticed the rust on break disc, how do you clean those without taking down the wheels?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Surface rust on steel rotors is normal after you wash a car. It goes away as soon as you brake the first time. If you want to prevent that flash rust, as soon as you are done with the final rinse, spray some Hyde's Serum Rustopper on the rotors, and then continue with drying the vehicle. Here's a link to the product: amzn.to/3GIOgwC Or, when you are done with the final rinse, drive up and down the driveway a few times while lightly applying the brakes. Then dry the car. Have you never seen surface rust on steel rotors after washing your car? This is totally normal. That's why I like my Porsche 911 Turbo S so much, as it has carbon ceramic rotors, and those never rust and don't create brake dust. :)

If you have an air compressor, the magic trick is to use an air blowout gun to blow out all the dirt, lift stuff that's deep in the carpet fibers, and loosen those fibers, to make the vacuuming much much easier. See my video on the Tornador air blowout tool here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4HNd4OalqZ4oJIsi=EIBqKecXd0iElPhD That's for the loose dirt. For other dirt, see my professional carpet cleaning tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnaTXoWiqZ6qkJosi=R6hZWuuo09p9Pk9M

Great video Pan! I have a newer Dodge Challenger with black polished rims (not a high end car but challenging rims), I just got a scratch on a rim from my barrel brush. Would you suggest polishing it to get the scratch out? What product and application method would you suggest
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
If they are clear coated rims, yes you can polish them just like you would polish paint. Same compounds and polishes. And perhaps use a smaller polisher to get into more intricate areas, a polisher like this: amzn.to/3F4lLJa

Hi Pan, first off, you are so great. All of your vids are so helpful and I can tell how much you enjoy your profession. Thank you for all of it. I just got a 2024 Lexus NX 350h and it is a great car. But one thing has annoyed me. There is a sticker on the inside of the driver window that has some required warnings and info. I peeled it off but am now left with sticky residue. I want to apply Goo Gone to remove the remnant adhesive and wanted to know if that is alright to apply to the window. I will of course use an appropriate car glass cleaner after (thanks to you I bought an appropriate product!) . Thank you.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Hi Bob! Congrats on your new NX 350h. Beautiful ride! What color is yours? For the adhesive residue, yes you can use Goo Gone on glass. If the residue is on the exterior, no issues. If the residue is on the inside glass, just make sure you don't have tinted film. That could damage the tint. You have this version of Goo Gone? amzn.to/3uSkq6g Their automotive version is also safe on glass: amzn.to/4a9Sqv5 And yes after Goo Gone, clean the glass with an automotive glass cleaner to neutralize the cleaner and remove any residue. I hope this helps.

I never knew those tire dots were for alignment. Thanks for the info!
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
You bet! The yellow dots identify where a tire weighs the least - the lightest point on a tire. The yellow dot should be lined up and directly next to the valve stem, which is the wheel's heaviest point. The red dots identify where the tire is flattest - the lowest point on a tire.

Hi Pan! Love all of your videos btw. I have a black AMG GLC 63 probably with the same paint characteristics as this car and I want to know if I can follow this process with just a rotary from Home Depot? Also, if I use reflect do I have to apply a ceramic after or can I use spray ceramics, waxes? Thanks!
@PanTheOrganizer11 ай бұрын
HI Jon! Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on KZbin as we surpassed 960,000 subscribers and we have over 130 million views! I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. If you have never polished a car before, and have little paint correction experience, I wouldn't recommend a rotary polisher. You could get yourself in trouble with the paint. You should look for a dual action (orbital) polisher. See my popular paint correction tutorial for beginners here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6TXhXiMfLKCiqs Once you are done polishing with CarPro Reflect, you must use CarPro Eraser to remove polishing oils, before applying the protection. After that, it's up to you to decide what kind of protection you want. Wax (1-3 months protection), sealant (4-6 months), ceramic spray (3-12 months depending on which one you buy) or a full ceramic coating in a glass bottle (years of protection). See my popular video explaining the differences between all the major forms of paint protection here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/apbNl4N-ltNmoZYsi=8g3VLX9gpRF34vD1
