Scp-147 is my favorite. It's just a 1950s TV. It sits in a 50s era room. If you take something into the room from modern times it'll show you images of torture but if you wear period era clothes it'll just play I love Lucy episodes that have never existed and makes you feel euphoria. Agents in the foundation use him like a vacation with a sign up sheet.

@VinluvAntonHandesbukia 147 will reject any items after March of '65. It requires no power source and is a GE 1957 black and white. When modern items are introduced to the room it will show color HD tv of beheading, rape, and torture. Of the 15 tasked with watching 147, 14 lasted 10-15 seconds. 1 lasted 2 minutes and went insane. 2 later committed suicide. 147 doesn't seem to care if the person watching was born after 65. In one experiment someone walked in wearing Pre 1965 clothing with the caveat of 3 bic pens invented in the 70s and was met with the strangest episode of I Love Lucy that featured a lot of violence and guns. It's also able to tailor its content to the viewer. A convicted rapist was strapped to a chair made in 1986 and forced to watch. Not a single rape was shown and instead played genital mutilation.

Keter class has nothing to do with how dangerous or deadly the object is. The classifications are for how difficult they are to contain. Safe = easily contained. Euclid = requires specialized containment procedures/constant maintenance. Keter = Extreme containment procedures/uncontainable.

You could have a button that destroys the universe when you push it, but if you can put it in a box and it stays there, it's safe. Meanwhile, if you have an ordinary housecat that teleports to a random location at random times with no way to stop it, it's keter.

For those who want a bit of lore is regards to this, It's generally agreed upon that the 610 infection is either the remains of a weapon used by the Sarkic cult from the old days of war with the cult of the broken god, or is actually a fragment of their god itself. Think of the Cult of the Broken God as the 40K Mechanicus (Technophiles). While the Sarkics are more based around biological creations and mutations. These 2 factions are responsible for a number of SCP's, and the only general bit of lore agreed upon in most canons is that the 2 had a massive war that nobody really won.

The thing that cracks me up kinda about many SCPs is how they start with a great premise that is really creepy and disturbing, but they they pretty much turn into rambling that feels like the author is just throwing everything at the wall that sparks to mind in order to create a more disturbing, creepy, sickening, or horrific description. Eventually it just starts to feel gratuitous in a way. Its sort of like when your little cousin or nephew starts describing the imaginary super powers of his favorite action figure, and eventually he's just describing God more or less. Like how Cousin Johnny at level 10 makes everyone's first born have fetal HIV and moths instead of eyeballs, or whatever, and the pit of this creature had a creepy Silent Hill Church and a grim reaper in it.

Hi! Avid SCP enjoyer here! With how much I feel you liked this one, I feel it's almost my duty to inform you (epically once I heard you were liking the pagan aspects of this story), that SCP-610 is part of a large religion in universe known as Sarkicism. There's a lot to it too; been wars, different leaders and everything. Grand Karcist Ion is a bro. The flesh goddess Yaldabaoth is like...not a bad entity? Please, Papa Meat, you owe it to yourself

One thing I really like Sarkicism is that in many respects its something that could very easily be considered an ontologically evil concept, however there's multiple examples of different sects of Sarkicism actually being benign if not outright peaceful. One even purposely grows organs on flesh-trees to make organ donations at local hospitals. Then there's the fact that the entire religion in of itself basically started as a rebellion against a borderline global civilization of ghoul-humans using them as slaves. As fucked as a majority of the religion is now you cannot argue that had that rebellion not happened modern humanity would probably be speaking Daevite right now.

Keter just means its really hard to even partially contain and almost impossible to contain entirely and even if you do its a very delicate balance that requires near constant efforts and could fail with even a single mistake. Basically the three classes are "you could put it in a box and lock it and leave the room for twenty years and come back and it would be sitting right there" and the thing in the box coupd be a button that causes every star in the universe to go hypernova instantly, its gonna be a safe class even though it could destroy the universe in an instant. Euclid is one where if you put it in a strong locked box in a locked room and put it under armed guard it should be fine. Keter means you aint getting it in that room, and even if you did youd need so much effort to keep it even partially in there that youd be unlikely to do so entirely or for long periods of time. The official test for which it is is if you lock it in a box and walk away it will be there when you get back, euclid you arent quite sure if it will be there when you get back, and keter is it can quickly and easily escape.
@zacharyfewins80878 ай бұрын
Keter actually has nothing to do with the danger surprisingly. The classes simply denote how easy it is to contain and control. Safe scps typically have almost no containment procedures. Just being in the possession of the foundation is enough. Euclid means it is not well understood how to contain it or it is unpredictable, but not much of a liability to escape. Keter means that it takes a large amount of resources, effort, and/or precision to properly contain or control it, and it will breach containment if given the chance. Also, D class personnel were all death row inmates. The deal is they get a chance to live for as long as they work for the foundation.
@alexmark65808 ай бұрын
Exactly, even safe class scps can be dangerous. Like that red variation of scp-1200 (chewing gum), that cause lil creatures to burrow into you and drain your bodily liquids. By itself it can't move around, but it's dangerous to those that consume it.

I wonder if this is part of why unresolved endings don't always hit the same for me anymore. Years reading dozens to hundreds of scp articles get you a little sick of there always being very unfinished worlds that never properly fulfill you. Like you said, that wonder/mystery can be amazing, but after a while it just feels like you're being blueballed repeatedly and I'm not really into that personally.

This reminds me of Golden wind, a character named Carne had a power named "Notorious B. I. G. " (yeah it's a reference to the rapper) that activated after he was killed and it was basically an entity that ate everything that moves, the faster it moves the faster it gets attacked by the thing.

I feel the need to clarify that Keter doesn't necessarily mean it's an apocalyptic threat, but rather, it means the SCP is super duper hard to contain. For reference, a nuclear warhead is considered Safe. A nuke doesn't turn nearby objects into more nukes, or try to walk out of the room it's kept in, or try to hypnotize nearby individuals to detonate it, or draw worshippers to form a cult around it, etc etc etc

The Flesh That Hates reminds me heavily of another SCP that in hindsight, isn't that similar at all, but it still has to do with flesh disfigurement: When Day Breaks. I would personally recommend it if you don't mind the fact that it's more story/emotion driven for 60 to 75% of its read time. Tldr for the entry: the sun broke and is melting every living thing into a Wax like substance, and they're still alive during this. Any exposure to sunlight is game over.

24:46 Yo Meat Man, D-Class stands for "disposable," not "detained", DI1-3 are "Disposable Infected." And anyone who becomes unable to perform their duties to the Foundation can also become a D-Class Personnel. On some objects, some researchers have before, because they got too involved with the anomaly, effectively becoming a perfect test subject. While most often it's the criminal underclass who get enrolled as D-Class, the homeless, and even bystanders who become infected by some objects can be as well. That said, branching into SCP content's a pretty good move given you and Wendy's CreepCast. And it is always fun to see someone not sticking to the strict clinical scripts for doing SCPs.

Something to important to note about the foundation is that their main goal is to contain and protect the anomalies so they can be studied. There are other pseudo agencies such as the global occult coalition which attempts to destroy these anomalies, though often their goals often align, friction is caused by their disagreements in the methods of containment.

The further in, the more odd occurrences you encounter until you are either driven out or lost forever. (I've been vague here, but it is a very interesting SCP.)
@averagemekhanefollower2817 ай бұрын
Regarding the origin of 610, it was created by the Nälkä during the reign of the Kalmaktama Empire. Originally, it was made as a method of construction, but then it was weaponised to use against the Mekhanites and other enemies of the Nälkä. After the fall of Kalmaktama and the Sarkic diaspora, it was abandoned, and spread on its own.
@moocowofjustice5258 ай бұрын
There’s actually a few different reasons that the foundation doesn’t dispose of the anomalies, and they can vary depending on the article. Most commonly, the idea is that killing the monster doesn’t guarantee the effect goes away, and it could even get worse. For example, Cousin Johnny. What if they captured him and killed him? Would it stop? Would something just create a new Johnny? If Johnny can be killed, where did he come from, and would killing him piss whatever made him off?
@theodorehodbor50808 ай бұрын
With SCP-610 I think it was implied in other entries that the Foundation is keeping it alive for research because they know it's actually a bioweapon used by a known Group of Interest called the Sarkic Cults. So you're right in that if they annihilate this infection here there's nothing stopping these cults from causing an outbreak elsewhere in the world, however at least by keeping this region alive they can still actively study ways to control it better in a semi-enclosed area.

6:35 Oh, not necessarily. The SCP Foundation doesn't show up and try to destroy everything on sight out of past experiences. Trying to destroy some anomalies actually causes worse damage. In the case of SCP 610, attempts to scorch the entire area actually, well, makes it _angry._ See, not all of the Flesh that Hates is above-ground. And torching the above-ground parts only accomplished pissing off the rest of it.
