You never thought of filling the bath 1st? 33 yrs a C6 and always filled bath 1st. Makes transfer out easier, believe it or not.

That's a good tip. For me personally I find it doesn't make much difference if the water is there or not. Sometimes I fill it first sometimes I don't depending how long I want to wait

it is very difficult and dangerous! i never rent appatment without accomodations for disabled people

We always try to get accessible accommodation if possible but unfortunately not everywhere has the facilities we need or it is too expensive. Sometimes it is either inaccessible or nothing and I'd generally rather take what's available than miss out completely. I do agree it is a bit different but with practice I don't think it is much different to other transfers, you just have to be careful and learn the technique - all transfers we do have some aspect of danger but for me it is worth the risk for the freedom it brings but everyone is different and you have to decide what is right for you

This is very helpful I’m quite newly disabled and I think some of my holiday accommodation is going to be a bath and I had no idea how I would manage hopefully I have enough upper body strength to manage the transfer
