Yeh, a notorious king pin of the like who was also a loan shark ended up giving money to this now Sinn Fein candidate in our area, he came by and threatened everyone in the neighbourhood trying to get his money or find out where she was. In regards to this I think of my boyfriend when I told him my grandmother was a horrible b*tch and that my ex-husband was an abusive asshole. He took what I said with a grain of salt as he said that maybe my grandmother was just a misunderstood old lady and that I was just bitter towards my ex. He developed this way of thinking after his ex said her mom was horrible. At first he believed her till she stopped going after her mom and started going after him. Basically she had a new target for her abuse. So I get the skeptical POV. Just with all my experience of truama and abuse I will be more on the side of the person claiming they were abused. Only question if their story doesn't line up.

Okay this story is an emotional roller coaster but this shows how shallow people can be. I mean seriously they only got back in his life for the money they could get from him. how despicable do you have to be in order to think that that's a good idea? I mean seriously they basically abandoned him leaving him to be raised by his aunt and never was really dare for them. also I was actually giving them an ultimatum: be at my graduation or I will not consider anything. basically if they don't try to make time in their incredibly stupid schedules for their child's graduation then they don't deserve anything. also that girl doesn't need to be in a private school it's only because they want her to be in a private school. So her mother doesn't really have any excuse there. also the fact that the father took out alone that he couldn't pay back for stepsons College fund is not a good idea. also that he really think his first child is just going to hand over the money just because he can? I personally think those people need to get a good beating and basically get the divorceed from their current partners to see how much trouble they really are in. because at the end of the day their son is only doing what they've been doing his whole life: ignoring him. also I would get a restraining order and I would not have paid for my meal. just to show more spite.

He would fight to be able to see my brother any myself, and he would get so upset if we didnt go over for some weekends. My dad would only make plans for days with us. I cannot imagine my parents going "oh, lets make plans for when he is gone." Scum of the earth parents. That aunt is so incredible for taking the OP in. I cant imagine this relationship is possible to fix. Bridges are burned so bad I dont think they can be rebuilt. I just hope that OP doesnt get burned if he does try to reconcile. Story 1 seems like dad was an ok man forced by circumstances. He never explicitly tried to ask for money while others tried helping him in that process he was ashamed because he knew he couldn't ask his son, he hadn't earned that right. Even the loan guy seemed to have been told to contact son by his wife (which is why she called back when the loan sharks were pissed). On the other hand the mother seemed to think she was owed a loan at least for her daughter. This is the reason why broken families suck.

They promised their son everything and anything he wanted. And they just go back on their word. Not every parent deserves a child but every child deserves a decent parent. Looking at my father just makes me wanna commit the you know what. Same with his new wife. She just expected me to be a perfect kid around her kids. Sperm donor didn’t really see me as his priority anymore. So I hope he has a kid with her and that their child can replace me and I can exile myself from his side of the family. Cuz they’re all gonna love him and HOPEFULLY forget about me in due time. And I love my father’s side of the family cuz they didn’t do me wrong, and I still want out of all their lives just to punish him. And spite. If that’s harsh, then the government should lower tax bills cuz my hate for my father makes tax bills seem generous instead of harsh.

Obviously OP's parents were just doin it 4 the money, if they genuinely care about OP they wouldn't have 4gotten all about him n made the effort as he grew in2 an adult.

Op doesn't owe his deadbeat neglectful "parents" a damn thing. Except making them accept accountability for their terrible selfish lack of parenting. And the commentors should also be ashamed of themselves.
