@@legiontepes3474 Yeah I agree... but the second story... yes but not as much. The husband should have left her THEN have another partner. On paper their still married (even though by this point it is dead now), while understandable he basically stooped to her level. Unless he is pretending to be in an affair to get back at her. Note: this comment is after i reached the part where OP hears a woman in the background of her call to Husband and i'll finish listening to it now. Edit: this is only my opinion.

I did the same shit to my ex (who acts like a fucking child but is a grown ass adult) and all he did was blame everything on me so anytime he tried pinning the blame on me id bring up something he did and hed always ask me to not bring it up like he never did anything wrong but did everything wrong and wanted to make me feel like the bad guy (btw we have a daughter together) and anytime we fight when my daughter was in the room id shut him out my mind and focus on my child who was only like 3/4 months at the time, and then wanted to go and complain to other girls about the fact we wasn't having any "fun" time when im still sore and healing and trying my best not to get pregnant again so I didn't have 2 children on my back to be taking care of. After 2 (and maybe a hlf maybe less) years i finally had enough of his shit and left him but now i gotta fight to get my daughter out of foster care cuz of his family doing bad things to her (not to sound like an attention seeker or anything but my daughter should have been dead cuz of everything they put her thru (but im glad she isnt cuz then id loose myself)). But thats all i want to say about my experience with toxic relationships (cuz he was toxic and manipulative thanks to his parents)

I get the feeling that much of that line of thought came from some form of insecurity or low self-esteem issue. Constantly thinking about appearances and never about what is actually happening is a recipe for disaster in any family. Honestly, they could have fostered the growth of his interests and made him become the best he could be, but instead, they tried to force him to become something he never was or was going to be. It was like they were demanding an apple tree produce oranges. They were completely unreasonable and foolish.

It's a relationship ender for the majority of people simply because of the loss of trust. Not to mention who knows if the s3x was protected or not which means the cheater is now a potential STD factory or a baby trap of raising another man's kid. If their excuse is "I don't know why I did it" that's either a lie or they have zero impulse control. Which is why the phrase "once a cheater ALWAYS a cheater" exists.

I have to admit op had a good point at the end grades at the end of the day don't matter if you don't develop the skills outside of school. I mean his sister literally has the best grades out of the two of them but has no confidence and all because she never kept the develop that. at the end of the day their parents insistence on good grades and high paying jobs only destroyed their children's future. also if they wanted to have a good image for the community then they should have been good parents from the start and not Force all of those unnecessary expectations onto their children. because what you do to your children can and welcome back to bite you in the ass One Way or Another. and also I think this is the greatest revenge you could do to your parents. not take away their money not take away their livelihoods or even their homes. take away their reputation and expose them for the people that they really are. because at the end of the day that's will be there end.

This is actually truth about our Asian countries. I still didn't get it why my parents so much in good marks from 1-9 standard when no one even ask for them at any place, I mean no job interview or test has I been asked of my school marks not even college entrances exams of different asian countires just my college grades and coding knowledge and aptitude was asked. And what the obession with doctor and engineering what about commerce and arts. That part is true as well our parents do threw us out for bad grades and even beat us, I still remember how for not making some idiotic copy of english(My teacher ususally only made us copy entire book and i was generally not the type of person who you say even read his copies , I just read my school books for exams), my mom literally threw me out for of house with I set of clothes for nearly half a day. But I don't agree on his point of not treating guest properly in our culture thier is a term called 'Atithi Devo Bhava' this means that every guest is like a god and should be treated like a god.

I don't know how things are now, but back in the 90's in the US (Possibly not the whole country, just the part I was in), your early to mid grade school grades didn't matter at all so long as you weren't held back. The closest they came to mattering was in final year of middle school, if you wanted to start high school in advanced placement classes, which supposedly gave you an extra advantage to getting into the better colleges. Considering what happened to the way colleges admitted people in the early 2000's, how school loans worked, and the employment prospects later on, the whole thing kind of feels like a scam, looking back on it.

Right?? My grandparents, while not as judgemental and punishing as my parents, comment on my grades and saying that it is important if i want a good job later on. It didn't even click with me on how it was supposed to help me get a job. The only time when I'd see them be at least useful was when i was looking for scholarship. And that, also is taken care of with an ielts score of 7.5+. So every tad bit of usefulness from my school's grade completely vanished out of my mind. To be fair, i haven't taken an ielts exam yet but planning on taking next year at around the same time as my high school's exam. University do be costing a lot and i do not want to be a burden. I want to do coding as a mean to make a living(BUT I WANT TO BE AN ARTIST SO BAD AAAAAAAGH). Sorry that's turned into a bit of a rant but whatever. In no universe should school grade be what your children see as the only way to success as it would, quite ironically, mess them up quite a lot and might take away their chance of success.

@@playonlinegames6418 I truly understand your from bottom of my heart still remember in my 7th grade, I didn't received 9+ cgpa got something like 8.6 but in my school children were given a metallic junk of a trophy for such achivement. What happen I was at my maternal grandparents house with my mother celebrating my holidays and result come in of previous year, they nearly get to commit suicide after saying a lot of hurtful things to me yeah no propes for getting that shit pile of junk for 1 to 6 grade one year they cannot brage about you made you some kind of criminal in eyes of asian parents and grandparents. Since I am first grandson from my maternal side everyone always keep telling me that it is my duty to perform well to all my younger siblings get encourage from it, what kind of bullsh*t is this what about my dream. @@challengeentertainment6008 Oh I believe it man. We have crap like that here too, but it's all fringe stuff that everyone but the most strict parents go for. And not just regular strict parents. People like in the story with destructive societal expectations, or the odd student that is trying to get into some ridiculously niche program. It's so rare that I could never figure out why it existed in the first place. Programs don't exist if enough students don't go for them, you know? A 0.5% engagement rate shouldn't survive more than a couple years. I can only imagine what hell that would be if it was a normal expectation for the average student.

s2: op says he is also a fault because he didnt want to fix the relationship. why is he at fault for that? op is the one that wants the relationship fixed, and she is also the one that broke it. being mad that the person stabbed doesnt want to see the stabber is a new level of selfishness. i will never understand the cheaters that after being found become the perfect partner, i actually take insult to that behavior. before the affair they were giving 50% of themselves, during the affair the give 10% + the betrayal. and when they are found, suddenly they give 100% and expect that to fix the issue. if anything is yet another insult. not only you gave 10% during the affair and had the affair, totally insulting the partner, but after that you make them see that you werent even trying during all the time before that. is like a confession of how little they were doing for the relationship during the entirety of it. it makes the entire relationship a lie.

For the second story, I have absolutely zero sympathy for OP whatsoever, she dug her own grave and now she also gets to lie in it too! She lost her husband the moment she decided to start her affair. It was not an accident it was a choice. Every action has its consequences be it good or bad. She learned an important lesson in accountability and humility, but it’s far too late. The damage she did was done. OP needs to move on and do things right, but just not with the ex husband.

I’m not even through the first story right now but it has hit so close to home in terms of how in and Asian house hold grades are everything and god forbid you aren’t able to live up to the expectations that your elder siblings set. Tbh just like OP in story 1, I also grew up with a little family owned shop (difference being we had a convenience store and not a grocery store) and I ended up being really involved in the business when growing up, and yet I was still supposed to focus more on school even though I was being dragged to the shop where they could keep an eye on me. Not sure if you guys know, but behind the counter at a convenience store isn’t the easiest place to study if you’re having to get up every five minutes to take care of your stream of regular customers who are just getting off work and want their usual smokes or drinks 😅 Thankfully my parents never got as excessive as OP’s and the ultimatum for my family was just so long as I finish school, go to college and get a bachelor’s and make a decent living for myself they’re happy. God bless my parents for understanding that their upbringing they provided me has given me a lot of other skills necessary to lead a successful life. Also now that I’m older I have started to see a psychologist and found out I have ADHD and it has me mentally bouncing off the walls like crazy which explains my poor academic performance in my younger years. I’m good at retaining information, but I’m garbage when it comes to sitting still and focusing at what’s in front of me so taking tests makes me anxious because I would end up rereading the same question 10 times over before processing what I’m being asked. Sometimes I wonder if I had gotten checked for that sooner, maybe I wouldn’t have struggled to keep my grades up nearly as much. A lot of my friends are also immigrants or come from immigrant families and I’ve come to notice that a lot of immigrant families don’t exactly believe in psychological issues and just believe that it’s because you’re inadequate 🥲 Sorry for the long rant but the first half of the first story just hit so close to home so I just needed to vent 😂

An interesting statistic for you fine folks: in the clear majority of cases, abuse against children comes from the mother. It is also the case for religious radicalisation within the family. They often require their husband to conduct the punishment (which is not in any way excusing them for complying), but the mother largely tends to be the one initiating. Which may not be indifferent to the fact that children raised by single fathers are immensely less likely to become violent criminals than the ones raised by single mothers.
