I started with the 30 plastic marines set. I loved it. The Space Orks and Imperial Guard sets were awesome too. I never liked the lead and pewter as much, but at least you could position the arms in some cases. This new snap tight stuff is lame.

@@BlackBunik multi pose is a double edged sword: production cost goes up significantly, and there's a reduced ability to make specific sculpts since every part has to fit. That aside, these are arguably the most amazing looking models GW has produced, and that's partly because they're monopose.

Covid has caused so many of my friends to get into 40k. We started lockdown playing a lot of rts games and quickly settled on dow because it's fun and looks cool. Then this box set comes out which gives us all flashbacks to the cut scene in dow with the necrons and space marines. Needless to say we were all super bummed when none of us could buy a set because they sold out so quickly

Snagged 3 of these for $150 each from a guy in UK that just wanted as much cash value back fast from a remorse buy. Price is still great at $200 for the glut second release, you can grab it at that and it would still be worth it all day every day. Find/beg/overtime the extra $40 or so and get it, you'll have no problem dumping half the box for a good return.

To be fair, it's injection molded and the sprue locations are extremely well thought out. You're not paying for the plastic, but for the detail. It's probably overpriced, but not as much as you'd think. Profit margin is probably 25% after all is said and done. Not as bad as a grocery store with 4000% margins on some items.

I find it hilarious that GW puts "posters" in each box that you are supposed to frame and hang......... Except every single one will be fucking damaged by the sprues behind it. I like the new book but they put way to many stupid photos (not artwork) of random armies. It's not very interesting and drives up the size and of the book for nothing.
