I was reading an interview with guitarist Rick Derringer. He was originally asked to do the studio session with Pat Benatar for this song, but he was so busy with other projects that he asked his buddy Neil Giraldo to do it instead, and the rest is history.

I recall that. I was 14 years old, my friends and I were excited to see MTV so we had the TV on waiting for it. We live in mountain time zone and we got the time wrong so we had to watch an hour of static but MTV finally came on. I was kind of disappointed when Video Killed The Radio Star was the first song but then this blew my doors off. I was already a Pat Benatar fan and this video made my jaw drop

She and her band should have been top of the list to be inducted their first year of eligibility which by the rules would have been 25 years after releasing their first album in 1979. That means she should have been in the Hall back in 2004.

You may have a problem accepting hip hop as part of the heritage of rock and roll, but that's an issue that's better left to musicologists and art critics. Madonna, however, I've always seen as the person who inherited the title of "sexiest woman in pop music" from Pat Benatar. Benatar, of course, made better music, has a better voice and was a better performer. Based on that criteria, and not cultural impact, she should be in the Rock Hall instead of Madonna. Or the GoGos.

Pat not ONLY has the ripper killer voice she's got very much a super star TALLENT for writing I was told by the great late guitar mentor AND the fave guitar player until he went up to stay on space station no.five MR Ronnie bumblebee eye's rocking back n fourth pouring his SOUL into everything that's played UNREAL yes that's the man so Ronnie was a great musician and knew so much about music n sounds like he said he agreed with the style of pats guitar player was his signature sound and riffs with the tasty flairs he I believe said that thay were a pair I was a pair?
