So, how did your long term Test 1 and Test 2 do? Where's the final confirmation it works?
@jonathanreinke9392Ай бұрын
I only use the Raft once or twice a year and the quick repairs have held. It is my recommendationn that for more than a quick fix or a day or so that you get a pro patch kit for rubber inflatables. Happy fixen! Jonathan R.

But what happens when these patches hit the water - do they hold?
@jonathanreinke93922 жыл бұрын
Hey Peter, They do hold but I feel like these are more temporary fixes. If you have a proper inflatable patch kit definitely use that instead. Another adhesive that is stronger and still flexible is Aquaseal. This glue is kind if pricey per ounce but it is a glue I usually have for other watersports repairs and it is a usefully glue to have as a just in caise repair "My Opinion". Happy Boating!

Put the tape on wax paper, then cut out a circle. Pull off wax paper and apply your circular patch. Easy.

What tape exactly? Gorilla tape? Flex tape?
@jonathanreinke93922 жыл бұрын
Hey Tate, The tape I used was Gorilla Clear. It worked well but I think more of a temporary fix. A matching patch kit or more durable flexible glue like Aquaseal would be recommended for a more permanent fix. Thanks for the watch.

I am so bummed how easily these boats get punctured despite being so rugged with tougher material. I only had it out a few times out and a hole already (maybe from somebody fishing hook), paddle plastic middle piece snapped already on both ends and one boston valve crapped out. Disappointed with intex

I have heard and seen 😉 similar reviews with Index. For the cost "I got mine from a friend as he knew it needed repairs" they are thicker and stiffer vs less expensive thinner vinyl options. Maybe still a good cost / product ratio??? I hope you find the right watercraft that will bring you bunches of joy. 😊

How bad were the leaks before repairing

About 30 minutes before a side was noticeably flatter.

Thank you for sharing! Are you still using the boat? Are the patches temporary fixes, as you said they seemed to be? Or do they still hold? P.S. Less head between the camera and the subject! :) Also, it is best to apply the patch when the boat is inflated.
@jonathanreinke9392 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. Last summer the patches were holding air nicely. I still recommend a pro patch kit for a higher piece of mind permanent fix. If you are headed to the water and need a quick fix then the repair I did may be a good option. I used Tear-Aid Type A for a fabric repair and it worked great. I suspect Tear-Aid Type B would be a stronger option vs Gorilla Tape clear and still a fast repair option. www.acehardware.com/departments/automotive-rv-and-marine/marine/boat-repair/1490432

@@jonathanreinke9392, thank you for pointing the alternative to me! On a different note, how is handling the hand wing going? It looks like, when you get it right, the feeling of flowing above the water must be unlike many others; is using such a hand wing generally easy to master?
@jonathanreinke9392 Жыл бұрын
Your Welcome, With my previous Windsurfing and Windsurf Foiling skills my progression with Wing Foiling seemed natural and a positive experience. It is a great feeling flying above the water without the locked down feeling of a sail, mast to board connection or worrying about my personal safety concern with Kite foiling. Longboard and Slalom Windsurfing is still a total blast. The speed, efficency and the ease of logging lots miles with Windsurf foiling is something elts! I have kind of taken a temporary break from Wind Watersports. I started to learn Dock Start Foiling. It is fun, rewarding and for me taking a super long time to learn! 😅 My lauches are getting better and I am close to get sustained pumping flight as I can only do it for about 10 seconds so far. I predict foot foiling will be a super fun activity when there is no wind even years from now. I also feel after I get good at foot pump foiling it will totally help all Wind, Wake or Wave foiling skills. Happy Monday!

Had anyone ever tried r tuna bond RV tape
@jonathanreinke93922 жыл бұрын
I have not tryed it but maybe someone elts has. If you already have some it looks like it is totally worth the try. Just clean the area with like denatured alcohol patch it pump up and let it sit for a few hours to overnight and see if it still has air. If you don't already have some it is pricey stuff so a manufacturers recommended permanate patch kit will probably be smarter. Thanks for the great idea! Jonathan
