You need to really listen. Don't be a person who's thinking about the next question they're gonna ask after they've asked one while your customer or prospect is speaking. They can tell you're not listening to them. And if you're not listening to them there will be no trust. With no trust, there is no buy. Good video, Patrick.

Thanks Louie. You are right, make sure the questions you ask are actually guiding them towards a solution to their problems.

@jeremyross7939try repeating the last 3 words that the prospect says to you right when they’ve finished talking, it’s a better flow than a pause and it gives them the feeling you’re trying to understand and not sell

Don’t take advice about sale from someone that isn’t actually a very successful salesman. It is different than being successful at teaching people about sales. It is obvious that he knows the principles and read the books but hasn’t actually done it in real life.

This sounds like SPIN selling. Situation, Pain, Implication, Need-payoff. That's a whole method of selling and it's for high ticket items or a professional service.

Just be honest, be honest about that you wan’t to make money for your living and focus on people who you think really need your product so that you can be honest about it being a win win for both of you. If you’re going to be a real good seller you shouldn’t feel that you want to hide if you would see one of your customers in the grocery-store one day. You want people to remember that you were a honest and good salesman.

What about selling for a one-off service based business? Such as auto glass. A lot of sales advice is more leaning towards subscription type services such as marketing, like in the example you gave here.

My business is in selling my original art and reproductions of it. I continually struggle to find ways to make my product into a solution to a problem. So marketing seems a lot harder than for many other products and services.
@ryanparente5445Ай бұрын
What aspect, like in specific, would you say is the most difficult and/or encounter the most often? Is it pretty much just the selling price?
@EnglishwithAlanАй бұрын
@@ryanparente5445 well, finding ways to get people to realize they "need" art as a solution to a pain point. obviously they need certain things more than others, and while I believe art is essential to a fulilled life, I don't know how to approach that.
@EnglishwithAlanАй бұрын
@@ryanparente5445 no because I sell high quality prints of my work which are quite affordable. It’s finding the pain points and showing potential clients that a luxury items solves some problem.

Offer portraits if you know how to make them....I have seen artists do really well by offering their services close to funeral places. People tend to spend a lot of money to have a memory of a recently lost loved one...just a thought 😊
@EnglishwithAlan15 күн бұрын
@@IrmaHernándezResendiz that's a great idea. I'm not very confident of my ability with portraits. I am taking a long course on realistic painting that eventually gets to making portraiture, so it may still become a possibility for me. I really appreciate your response.

point one - social cues, are referred to as AIZUCHI in Japanese. Thought you'd like to know.Un, Sou desu, Honto ! And a whole lot of Nodding. Also Reciprocity - Robert Cialdini

Interesting, thanks for pointing that out.
@esotericist6 ай бұрын
Beyond Robert Cialdini's 6 principles (Reciprocity+++++) there is the truly dark art of manipulating somebody into doing some small, perhaps inconsequential, favour for you. They then have to convince themselves they like you - going forward - in order not to create the cognitive dissonance of "why would I do a favour for somebody I don't like? It's called the Ben Franklin effect. Dark Art.@@patrickdang PS Enjoy your clever content. Have reccommended it to my 18 year old (Oriental) son, here in UK.

No one can sell anything to anyone. People ONLY buy what they need, want and desire, things that help them accomplish a objective or goal. If it doesn't help someone accomplish THEIR Objectives/Goals, and it is not a need, want or desire of their, no sale will be made, no matter the tricks or gimmicks you use. In the end you waste your time and play yourself
@theteamgroundworksoriginal233225 күн бұрын
Yes but... I want them to buy it from ME. I want them to want to buy it only/mostly from ME. I want them to want others to also buy only from ME. So I have to keep the focus on the "YOU".

In your case I personally would say my goal is to sit down w you and get an idea of what’d you’d like. I can tell you realistically if I can do it. We can do a trial run if you like it we can book your day if you don’t I totally understand. Price for both is ___ price for just the trial is ____ Idk if yall do that or not tbh. I would just emphasize that I am open to offering my opinion on what would look nice w their eye shape, skin tone, etc.. the type of jewelery, hairdo.. or say you can go exactly by what she wants whatever she prefers. Just make it clear that your goal is for her to be her most confident self by giving her what she pictures ❤

Why should any good, stable, intelligent person want to enter a field where you need to know "dark psychological secrets" in order to be competent. If you must be manipulative to succeed at something, then there is a problem with that thing.
@juliedelrosario262026 күн бұрын
You said "manipulative".. But I tell you that "manipulative" is not the right word for this video.. Patrick's Dark Psychology is teaching us the proper way to first "be able to express our concern to our customers", second is "how to be able to ask the right questions to our customers, until the last part where we won't sound like a boss to our customers.. You thinking that his video is teaching us how to manipulate other people means that you didn't understand his video..
