Hi Patrick, big fan of yours. Actually, I am 3 years experienced B2C sales professional in ed-tech & BFSI and want to switch my career into tech sales like B2B SaaS, so I need some resume-building tips, any resources that you can suggest??

Also, being able to sell yourself, regardless of having any relevant experience or not, is perhaps the best demonstration of you having what it takes to be a great salesperson.

Also, don't undervalue transferrable skills you've gained from a different field. Especially if you're getting into sales as a career change rather than entry-level. Most job roles help you build skills useful to sales in one way or the other.

I’ve read that there’s a different applying method in tech sales. For example instead of just submitting an application you would do the research to find the managers information and reach out to them as you would a prospect
@Frederick0220 Жыл бұрын
Yup. It’s critically important in just sales but any role. Network with the hiring managers and people high up in that function

Companies are looking for people that can get a meeting and close deals. It’s does not matter about anything else. Either you have the ability to get meetings and close or you don’t. If you have no experience look for a company that is willing to give you an inside sales job BDR. It’s a 2 year track at least. No degree is required. Interviewing is not the way you are going a high paying sales job. You will know the people that are hiring. He does give good advise on mass hiring for entry level to start.

Don't forget that there's other sales careers beside the highly difficult and sporadic tech sales (look how frequently thousands are let go from these companies every time the wind blows the wrong way!)... Home improvement sales is far more steady and amazing for those who love design and homestyle - and pays bank too! $200k/yr is average where I’m at in SEA. 👍 Newbies do $150k/yr average their first year and quickly climb to over $200K+ their second year... Plus a chill schedule because you don't punch a time card. You're paid for results, not reporting to a lame manager who wants to know why you're 3 min late getting to your cubicle...🤦♂
