A song is not truly covered until David Phelps covers it. Absolutely amazing!

I had the pleasure of seeing David in concert this past Friday, October 11th. He sang this at the concert. Just phenomenal! Thank you, Lyle, for reacting to his version.

That is absolutely phenomenal!! The harmonies are beautifully haunting! Lyle, thank you for always being so open and sharing your life with us. I know you've lost your mom, dad, and brother. I don't remember if you've ever mentioned if he was your only sibling. I cannot imagine your loss. You are in my prayers always. Who knew you would end up with a "family" that reaches across the globe! We love you! I loved this reaction!

Ohhhh Lyle…I cried a lot at church today, and here we go again. Just incredibly beautiful and haunting. This song makes me think of my brother too. It’s still hard for me to grasp that he’s no longer here, but I do know where he is, and I know there will be a day that I will see him again. Thank God for that promise! you always do such a good job.❤

This was so beautiful. I was in tears right along with you, Lyle. I also have lost my brother. He died in a car accident in 1991 at the age of 31 and left behind 4 sons ages 3,4,7 and 9. My parents adopted the 4 boys when they were in their late 50's. This song always reminds me of my little brother. David did a fabulous job, as usual. His kids all harmonize so well with him. I could listen to them singing together all day. Hugs, Kyle, I know how you feel. My condolences to you. Praying for you and your family.

Only Vince Gill and Brothers Of The Heart can sing this. Just my opinion. Phelps has too much vibrato etc.

Mmmm...first time reading where David has too much vibrato!! Interesting.

@@feliciafowler3524 Yes I just wish he would sing more strait tone.
@aliciaharris3862 ай бұрын
I disagree. Although Vince Gill is the writer and original artist, I’ve NEVER been able to listen to the song all the way through UNTIL I heard David’s version. In my opinion, comparing “versions” is futile to begin with. No two artists are going to interpret the song the same way. Just my opinion.
@feliciafowler35242 ай бұрын
@@aliciaharris386I agree with you 100%. Agreed, Vince Gill sings his song with all his heart but he should, it is his song. I love David Phelps and his version of this song. Beautifully sung!!

@@aliciaharris386 I just wish David would stop trying to be an opera singer. Vince Gill for me by a long way.
