This was the Canadian standard issue rucksack from 1982 until well into the 2000's. This pack takes obvious influence to the early American Alice pack. This pack in 1982 replaced the 1964 pattern pack in 1982 and was this disliked by some of the first troops to get issued these but seem to be well liked by later generations of Canadian soldiers. It has one large compartment with a radio pocket in it and 3 exterior pockets that are about canteen sized. I would very much like to hear about your experiences with this pack if you have any. Hopefully you liked this video and subscribed if you like this sort of stuff. Please leave a comment with any questions, additional information, or suggestions for future videos and I will do my best to answer them. As always thanks for watching.
Thank you,
Devin K.

I'm in Canada and got an almost new one in 2020. They are great packs, nice and comfortable for long term use. I put a velcro along the tops of the three front pouches so small stuff doesn't fall out, and added a Tasmanian Tiger MOLLE Battle Belt to mine to make it more comfortable. Many Canadian Soldiers love them!

The bottom of the frame. Is supposed to sit. On your webb gear butt pack. So the belt is around your waist. Not hips. So your webb gear supports the pack. Thank you for your video. Cheers 🍻

Good review, better than most. The valise, or sleep system bag as you call it is a large compression bag that holds a lot of volume increasing the capacity. The waist belt does suck. I changed mine out to a 3 inch 82 pattern webbing belt. Much better. Ive had a few of the more expensive packs, but the 82 pattern to me is far more comfortable, and when properly set up the same load feels lighter. If you can find the gortex valise grab it. It is well worth the money and increases your volume substantially. I have 2 of these setups. If i can find a 64 pattern frame i will build a hybrid out of one for lighter loads. Gets rid of the bottom section for the valise. Enjoy your ruck. Its a decent system and good value.

Awesome idea, but not matched by awesome materials. Ive seen a ton of broken frames and the 82 is the reason the so called 64 pattern (the actual C2, rhe 64 actually had no frame) was kept on with jump troops here.

Ever gotten your hands on the Pattern 64 rucksack? I've got the American P-68 Rucksack from Vietnam, complete I might add. :) Very fortunate. Canadians did copy it and I was curious how close it is, other than the hardware being plastic in most cases.
