This wasn't the first time. There are moments in this where Janet anticipates the movement (such as 2:13), revealing that they've gone over this a few times before this particular moment was recorded. So, don't beat yourself up. Repetition is key in learning choreography.

But EVERYONE respected Paula's dancing & choreography and she was given many awards for it. She became a joke on American Idol because she seemed high and out of it half the time. Me too. I took a dance exercise class years ago. We would learn a little 16 step routine and run through it multiple times. Sometimes I would forget the moves in the middle of the routine! I am AMAZED at performers who can remember every little move in multiple routines.

Paula's really sweet in person, also....I was sitting with friends in a hotel lounge after a concert we did (we're all classical musicians) and we saw Paula by the elevator waiting to go up. We got up our courage and waved and said we were fans...she couldn't have been nicer to us, waved back and said "thanks, guys!" with a huge smile. And this was late at night and we were all tired....she could have just ignored us!
